Role Overview  

We're hiring an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our Help Desk team. This is an entry-level role that is perfect for someone beginning their IT career who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced technology environment. As part of the IT Support team, you will be on the front lines supporting team members across the organization — solving everyday technical problems, building relationships, and delivering excellent service. 

 Core Responsibilities  

End-User Support & Customer Service 

• Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical difficulties via phone, email, chat, or in person. 

• Provide friendly, patient, and professional customer service to end-users at all levels of the organization. 

• Log, track, and resolve incoming help desk tickets in a timely and thorough manner.  

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution 

• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end-users across multiple locations. 

• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff with detailed documentation of steps already taken. 

• Follow established procedures and knowledge base articles to resolve common support requests.  

Equipment & Setup 

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices for new employees. 

• Support basic account provisioning and access requests under the guidance of senior IT staff.  

Documentation & Knowledge 

• Document common issues, resolutions, and how-to guides to help build out Help Desk knowledge base resources. 

• Follow and help maintain IT procedures and standard operating documentation.  

Other 

• Assist the IT team with day-to-day operational tasks and project support as needed. 

• Execute other duties typical of an entry-level IT support role as assigned.  

Skills & Qualifications 

 Required 

• 0–1 year of IT support, help desk, or customer service experience (internships, co-ops, and volunteer experience welcome). 

• Basic understanding of Windows and/or Apple operating systems. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. 

• Eagerness to learn, troubleshoot, and adapt to new technologies. 

• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure. 

• Associate's degree, certificate program in IT/Computer Science, or demonstrated equivalent experience or self-study.  

Preferred 

• Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, EntraID Azure, M365 Suite 

• Any experience with a ticketing system such as Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or similar. 

• CompTIA A+ certification or currently pursuing. 

• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in IT, cybersecurity, or infrastructure.

 Compensation  

This role has a salary range between $45,000–$50,000 depending on experience and other determining factors.

Road Map  

The Principal Software Engineer is a senior technical leader embedded in our agile development organization, driving the architecture and delivery of our next-gen compliance platform. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will own technical direction, mentor and lead a team of 3–4 developers, and contribute meaningfully at the individual contributor level. The ideal candidate brings 10–15+ years of full-stack experience, thrives in fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environments, and has a track record of leading distributed, multi-timezone teams. 

You will be expected to think beyond your immediate team. As a member of our Team Leads Team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering leaders, share learnings, and help shape engineering culture and practice across the broader organization. 

What Your Ride Will Look Like  

Technical Leadership 

• Architect, write, and maintain reusable, testable, and efficient code (Clean Code / SOLID principles). 

• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications across the full stack. 

• Lead front-end (Vue/Vuex) and back-end (.NET) development, setting patterns and standards for the team. 

• Own SQL database architecture and query performance across your team’s domains. 

• Drive adoption of microservice and micro front-end architecture best practices. 

• Share in DevOps responsibilities and champion observability tooling and practices.

Team Leadership & People Development 

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 3–4 developers, providing technical direction, code review, and career guidance.

• Manage and coordinate across multiple time zones, ensuring remote team members are included, unblocked, and aligned.

• Organize and run effective remote ceremonies — standups, retros, and planning sessions — that create genuine connection and accountability. 

Organizational Influence 

• Team Leads Team — participate actively in this cross-team leadership forum where engineering leads share learnings, align on practices, and collectively influence engineering culture beyond their own teams. 

• Bring insights from your team’s work and challenges to the broader group, and apply lessons from peers back to your team. 

• Help identify and resolve systemic issues — tooling gaps, process bottlenecks, knowledge silos — that affect multiple teams.

About the Role:

As a member of the Smart Roadside team, your mission will be to create and enhance Drivewyze applications to meet the current and future needs of our customers as part of a talented team of Software Developers, QA, Product Managers, and other internal partners.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining and expanding existing applications, plus design and developing of new applications, building on, and expanding the Drivewyze ecosystem to meet current requirements and addressing future challenges we don’t even know about yet. This includes portal applications, back-end services, APIs, supporting tools, security and architectural changes.

Job Accountabilities:

• Design, architect, develop, code and test applications on our servers and cloud platform. The following tech stacks are currently in use:

• C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Postgres.

• Elixir, Erlang, and Linux.

• Develop, manage, maintain, and improve web APIs and microservices based on current cloud architecture applicable to the platform.

• Apply industry best practices with your knowledge and expertise to execute an idea from concept to delivery as a member of a collaborative agile team.

• Document design, architecture, and system integrations as required.

• Explore, evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness for new and existing product ideas. 

What you bring:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Computer Science, computer or electrical engineering or related degree, or a diploma and applicable work experience

• 5+ years previous experience in application development including back-end services, mobile applications, and databases.

Requirements
