How You Will Make an Impact

The Industrial Electrician performs skilled journey level work with a safety mindset. The Duties of the electrician is to inspect, repair and maintain all electromechanical equipment and instrumentation.

 Responsibilities

• Install all new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and Atlas Sand electrical standards
• Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment
• Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations
• Perform all work safely
• Lead a work party in performing maintenance or repair work
• Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environmental regulations
• Responsible for lockout/tagout procedures
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications

• Methods, equipment and materials used in the electrical trade
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
• Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
• Principles of electronic theory as applied to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring and electrical equipment
• Theory of operation and use of PLC units and other computer-based equipment
• Working knowledge of blueprints, shop drawings and sketches
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and/or direction
• Install, including programming and troubleshooting PLC based equipment
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a recognized vocational education program in electrical/industrial electrical/industrial training OR completion of Electrical Apprenticeship Program
• Minimum of Five (5) years' recent industrial electrician experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license

 Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Capable of working a rotating shift, 14 on 7 off rotating between days and nights.
• Must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat

How You Will Make an Impact

Atlas Energy is seeking a Conveyor Director to lead the operations, maintenance, and strategic development of the Dune Express, a groundbreaking overland conveyor system in West Texas. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable transport of sand across a vast and rugged terrain, supporting Atlas’s mission to deliver sustainable and cost-effective logistics solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Target zero health, safety and environmental incidents.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Dune Express conveyor system, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and operators.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and emergency response protocols.
• Monitor system performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracts related to conveyor components and services.
• Provide strategic input on system upgrades, expansions, and long-term planning.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation plans
• Manage the Dune Express OPEX budget.
• Provide regular updates to the Executive Team and key stakeholders on project milestones and performance
• Ensure full compliance with all OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations
• Negotiate with contractors and vendors for materials, services, and equipment rentals; resolve quality and scheduling issues
• Oversee site infrastructure, including earthworks, concrete/structural builds, electrical systems, instrumentation, and commissioning
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for equipment uptime, system efficiency, and operational excellence
• Work with other departments as needed on material handling concepts, feasibility studies, designs and justifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in industrial conveyor systems, mining, or heavy infrastructure operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing large-scale mechanical systems and teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects
• Experience in fixed and mobile equipment maintenance, procurement, and warehouse operations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to be based in or travel frequently to West Texas.
• Ability to read, understand, and redline drawings, one lines, schematics, for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Capable of using engineering software such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit and Solid Works

The Belt Mechanic provides technical support for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and logistics equipment with limited supervision. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of equipment such as conveyors, pumps, and control devices. Troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment and ensures maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Understands process flow and evaluates ways to increase operating efficiency.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Gathers technical information to perform the job
• Performs equipment walk around and inspects and adjusts equipment; properly disposes of wastes
• Understanding of MSHA and OSHA standards and able to follow in accordance with while performing daily functions of the job
• Able to safely isolate equipment to perform repairs and maintenance, work at heights and in adverse weather conditions
• Performs equipment repairs, changes out parts, checks the status of equipment availability with site supervisors, and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse
• Primarily focused on the tasks relating to the predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all conveyor machinery and equipment; repair or replacement of motors, gear reducers, couplings, variable frequency drives, pulleys, idlers, brakes, structure, belting, cleaners, take up systems, transfer points, dust control systems, lubrication of, and machine health as needed
• Understands all equipment in depth from hydraulics, pneumatics, vehicle and machine repairs, with the ability to trouble shoot, analyze, and make quick responsive repairs without guidance
• Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as compressors, and pumps; repair or replacement of control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, as needed
• Performs accurate measurements using analog and digital calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and shaft/sheave alignment tools.
• Performs work order repairs
• Performs light welding and cutting to patch holes in chutes and reduce spillage throughout the system
• Coordinates and plans down time efficiently to maximize uptime of production
• Able to set up operator welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Competency Statement(s)
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to make appropriate arithmetic equations and complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years' experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair. Must have experience in maintaining and repairing processing equipment and heavy equipment
• Strong electronics experience with controls and drives
• Basic computer skills required to use maintenance software to track and log maintenance costs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft word and Excel are required
• A valid state driver's license

Sr. Reliability Engineer

The primary role of the Sr. Reliability Engineer is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This position will be responsible for tracking plant downtime and driving root cause corrective action for all equipment failures to achieve world class equipment reliability. This role will work closely with site leadership to prioritize and execute improvement projects related to equipment reliability. This requires excellent attention to detail, high communication across departments and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for daily oversight of equipment performance
• Addressing and predicting equipment failures
• Ensure correct KPIs are in place for monitoring equipment condition
• Analyze equipment trends to predict failures and recommend remediation
• Develop and execute projects to automate and/or simplify data collection and evaluation
• Establish statistical process controls for trend analysis and automatic notifications
• Design and execute experiments to qualify component improvements and new part vendors
• Responsible for investigating and reporting on all equipment failures and develop RCCA
• Oversee improvement projects using sound statistical method, DMAIC
• Downtime tracking and comparison tracking
• Strong mechanical knowledge of equipment
• Establish and develop strong relationship with Maintenance
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Materials or related
• Minimum 5 years related experience
• Recent experience in Manufacturing, Chemical Processing, Bulk Material Handling or Mining Environment
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong statistical background, experience with SPC and Six Sigma
• Proven track record of process improvement
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic with a defined sense of urgency
• Great communication skills
• Organized self-starter that works well in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and retention of pertinent information
