About the Internship   

Our Spring internship provides a hands-on experience in the fast-paced and exciting semiconductor industry. Our interns will work alongside industry projects and gain valuable insights into our core engineering roles. This program is designed to grow and shape the industry leaders of tomorrow, offering a chance to learn, develop and build the skills needed for a successful career in the semiconductor field.    

What to expect  

This position is a paid internship that is expected to start January/February 2027 and continue through April/May 2027. The duration will be 12 weeks, full time and on-site. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in a full-time academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for our Early Career opportunities.

As a Contract Lead, Product Sourcing Manager – Service & Spares, you will ensure continuity of the aftermarket supply chain by resolving critical part shortages, closing sourcing and data gaps, and driving cross‑functional execution. The role supports leadership decision‑making through operational analysis and executive governance, and serves as a key commercial enabler for high‑revenue aftermarket service projects by ensuring timely supplier onboarding, effective commercial execution, and sustained service performance.

What you will be working on

Operational Analysis, Executive Governance & Issue Resolution

• Perform demand and supply analysis for spare parts, identifying gaps, risks, and backlogs to support management visibility and informed decision‑making.
• Own end‑to‑end execution of executive shortage review meetings, including agenda creation, cross‑functional preparation with category managers, facilitation of executive sessions, and documentation and follow‑up of decisions and action items.
• Drive rapid investigation and resolution of urgent sourcing escalations involving missing data by analyzing SAP history, procurement records, and technical specifications, ensuring minimal disruption to aftermarket continuity.

Aftermarket Service Project Execution

• Act as a key enabler for high‑revenue aftermarket service projects, ensuring sourcing, supplier onboarding, and commercial execution are delivered on time to support significant business revenue.
• Lead supplier negotiations in alignment with project requirements, cost targets, and broader business objectives.
• Coordinate supplier qualification activities with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
• Track project milestones and ensure timely completion of supplier onboarding activities.

Cost Management

• Support implementation of approved cost‑saving initiatives.
• Assist with pricing alignment and ensure accurate and timely purchase order execution.
• Manage and track spares‑only cost increase reporting and approval processes in collaboration with Business Development and Finance teams.
• Contribute to ongoing cost competitiveness and margin improvement efforts.

What we are looking for

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operations within complex industrial or high-tech equipment manufacturing environments
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate demand, supply, and sourcing data into actionable insights
• Hands‑on experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and interpreting procurement and technical data
• Proven ability to manage time‑critical issues, drive resolution, and maintain operational continuity
• Clear, confident communication skills suitable for executive‑level discussions

• Key focal for engineering, manufacturing and supply chain for assigned products
• Manage across multiple functional groups to achieve common goals
• Break down and report on detailed costed Bills of Materials, align supply chain strategies with Commodity 
• Teams and align manufacturing strategies with Global Operations for Supplier Selection to match the quality, delivery and cost goals
• Drive lead time negotiations and strategies with suppliers and purchasing to meet lead time targets
• Negotiate with suppliers in regard to the closing of contracts for the delivery of (strategic) parts (deadlines, quality, conditions, prices)
• Perform opportunity analysis to identify projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement. 

What we are looking for

• At least 10 years’ experience in supply chain or operations
• Master/Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance or other related fields within the capital equipment industry
• APICS Certification, Lean Six Sigma Training, Negotiation certification or other Suppl y Chain related programs a plus
• Experience in a Global work setting is preferable, semiconductor capital equipment experience is a plus
• Excel, PowerPoint and SAP experience required
• Possess excellent communication skills, detail oriented and comfortable giving presentations
• Experience managing programs in a matrix environment
• Business level English and Japanese
