About the position

We are seeking a Lab Operations Assistant to join the Scientific Operations team at Arc for an initial period of 6 months, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time employee role based on our assessment at the end of that period of our continued business needs and your performance.

The Lab Operations Assistant is dedicated to providing exceptional support to Arc’s research labs. Responsibilities include media preparation and media QC, ordering and restocking consumables and other laboratory materials, glassware preparation, and other ad hoc tasks. This is primarily a manual labor role; the majority of your time will be spent on hands-on, physical tasks. Comfort with and commitment to physical work is essential.

In this position you will

• Perform media preparation and media QC
• Order and restock consumables and other laboratory materials
• Clean, sterilize, prepare, and distribute glassware, ensuring appropriate levels of glassware inventory in all areas of operations
• Assist with management of launderable lab coats, scrubs, and towels
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance, moving, and installation
• Assist with gas management, including CO2, LN2, and dry ice
• Serve as a backup for shipping/receiving and chemical inventory management
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring safety is the highest priority
• Demonstrate clear, concise and effective communication with lab members and team to ensure a high level of service.
• Work with the Lab Operations Manager and Lead to prioritize tasks and assignments, providing recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity
• Independently handle operational processes or projects and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
• Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Author or revise Internal Procedures or Standard Operating Procedures as applicable

Requirements

• 0-1 years prior laboratory operations experience
• Minimum education level: BS degree in biological sciences
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and occasionally move heavy equipment

About the position

We are seeking a Scientific Program Manager Lead to drive and coordinate strategic research initiatives across Arc Institute. This role will be instrumental in orchestrating complex, multi-disciplinary projects that span our Technology Centers encompassing cellular models, mammalian models, genome engineering, multi-omics, computational biology, and machine learning.

A defining dimension of this role is the facilitation of cross-functional and cross-institutional collaboration to keep Arc's most complex programs moving. You will lead regular working meetings across Technology Centers, Core Investigator groups, and institute leadership—surfacing and resolving blockers, ensuring effective resource allocation, and maintaining alignment across teams working toward shared scientific goals. As Arc's research programs grow in scope and ambition, this coordination function becomes increasingly critical to execution.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of biological research with strong program management skills and a track record of driving progress across distributed, interdisciplinary teams. In this role, you will work closely with Technology Center leaders, Core Investigators, and institute leadership to advance Arc's Virtual Cell and Alzheimer's Disease initiatives through structured, proactive program oversight.

In this role, you will also shape the strategic direction of Arc's research programs, mentor junior team members, and establish program management frameworks that appropriately support the institute's scale.

In this position you will

Requirements

• PhD degree in Life Sciences or a related field and 8–12 years of experience in program management in a research or translational setting
• Demonstrated experience managing external scientific collaborations, strategic alliances, or academic-industry partnerships, with a proven ability to structure, navigate, and steward productive long-term relationships
• Background in one or more relevant biology areas (genome engineering, multi-omics, cellular engineering, etc.)
• Strong track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in research environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on key long-term strategic objectives
• Track record of building and scaling program management or alliance management functions in fast-growth research organizations
• Experience with advanced project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Asana, Jira, Smartsheet)
• Excellent communication skills and are comfortable regularly engaging with a broad range of research scientists, experimentalists, senior management, and external partners
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and cross-institutional initiatives and building influence without direct authority in matrixed or research-intensive organizations
• Proven ability to manage and mentor team members, with a track record of developing talent in research operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computational biology or machine learning projects
• Background in multiple biology domains

The base salary range for this position is $172,000-$212,000. About the position

The Program Manager is a key member of the University Relations & Academic Affairs team. In this role, you will provide strategic and programmatic support to the team as well as the overall Arc community. The Program Manager portfolio includes Arc’s Innovation Investigator and Ignite Awardee programs, the Arc Biosciences Fellowship program, onboarding of new faculty, as well as other initiatives. The Program Manager will also have an active role in the development and execution of our university relations strategy. 

You will help establish and improve processes for all the programs and projects in your portfolio, and take the lead on several internal initiatives. You will be responsible for developing communications for internal and external programs and projects, designing and implementing good practices for management of our partner university relationships, and designing and coordinating various events, among other activities that will contribute to your success in the role. The Program Manager works in collaboration with members of the operations team and reports to the Head of University Relations & Academic Affairs.

Success in the position requires the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and strong project and management skills. The IT Operations Manager is a technical and operational leader responsible for the day-to-day reliability, performance, and scalability of Arc’s technology systems. This role serves as a key escalation point for infrastructure issues and the helpdesk, and a hands-on operator across our core platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep systems expertise across on-premises and cloud infrastructure, a service-delivery mindset, and the ability to help drive the organization forward. This position is full-time onsite (5 days a week).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure and systems administration experience in a technical operations or senior engineering role
• 2+ years of experience in managing direct reports
• Experience overseeing or directly supporting a helpdesk or service delivery function
• Hands-on expertise with systems administration, design and troubleshooting
• Practical experience with Google Workspace or MS365 at an organizational scale, including user management, domain configuration, and application integrations
• Working knowledge of hyperscaler environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) at the administration and engineering level
• Familiarity with the design and build of backup and recovery platforms
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and maintain active repositories and knowledge bases
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing teams or supporting large scale projects to deliver high output results
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira)
• Experience in the creation of and execution of IT Strategy initiatives as well as the ability to report on the effectiveness of those strategies
• Experience supporting HPC or research computing environments
• Experience with observability tooling for enterprise monitoring and reporting
• Knowledge of SD-WAN or private interconnect technologies

About the position

As Arc's Digital Content Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving Arc's web presence, producing multimedia content, and supporting your communications team colleagues in bringing Arc's science to wider audiences. You'll create and coordinate photo, video, and audio content, manage Arc's website and digital platforms day to day, and help ensure Arc's work is discoverable online. You'll work closely with Arc’s researchers, staff, and external vendors to keep our digital footprint accurate, engaging, and current. This is a hybrid onsite role, reporting to the Head of Communications.

• Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and how content is discovered and surfaced across search engines and AI platforms

About the position

We are seeking an independent and analytical FP&A Manager to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This critical role will partner closely with key budget owners in our Technology Centers and Core Labs, driving the annual budgeting process, project-specific forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in financial modeling, experience at a science organization, and a proven ability to translate data into actionable insights for leadership.

In this position, you will

• Lead the development and presentation of Arc’s annual operating budget, long-range strategic plans, and forecasts for our Institute Initiatives, research labs, and operational units.
• Partner directly with budget owners (specifically CSO, CTO, and COO organizations) to ensure financial plans align with strategic goals and provide detailed variance analysis against prior forecasts and budget.
• Develop scenario-driven financial models for key Institute Initiatives, new scientific programs, and capital expenditures.
• Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, reporting automation, and financial system utilization (e.g., Netsuite, Prendio).
• Support strategic vendor negotiations to reduce our operational costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field and 5-8 years of experience in a demanding finance or analytical role.
• Demonstrated experience leading and executing the core functions of corporate FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ideally within a fast-paced Technology or Biotechnology company.
• Prior experience as an Investment Banking Analyst (2-3 years) OR experience as a Consultant at a major/large consulting firm program (2-3 years). This experience must have provided deep exposure to financial analysis, rigorous modeling techniques, and effective communication of data.
• Exceptional proficiency with spreadsheets (advanced modeling, pivot tables, lookups, chart visualizations). 

Preferred Qualifications

• Educational background (e.g., degree or advanced coursework) or professional experience in the Biosciences, Biotech, and/or related fields is highly desirable.
• Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Netsuite Planning, Adaptive Planning) is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $116,750 to $144,000. These amounts reflect the range of base salary that the Institute reasonably would expect to pay a new hire or internal candidate for this position.
