The Health Collaborative program, under the Center for Health Innovation and Impact (CHII) at ALU, is a multidisciplinary, mission-driven group dedicated to transforming healthcare outcomes across Africa. We operate at the intersection of education, research, policy, and innovation—working closely with governments, health institutions, donors, and industry leaders. Our culture values collaboration, intellectual rigor, experimentation, and real-world impact.
The Health Ecosystems (HECO) Pillar empowers students and professionals to acquire advanced, interdisciplinary skills essential for sustainable growth and transformation of the health sector across Africa. Through research-informed programming, strategic partnerships, and leadership development, HECO works with Health Collaborative Partners to co-create solutions and train a new generation of health leaders equipped to drive equitable, inclusive, and resilient health systems.
The Health Ecosystems Lead will play a critical role in advancing the Health Collaborative’s leadership programs, applied research initiatives, and strategic partnerships within Africa’s health sector. This role requires a strong understanding of health systems, research-driven programming, and multi-stakeholder partnerships, with the ability to translate evidence and policy priorities into impactful leadership and capacity-building initiatives.
The role sits at the nexus of program delivery, research alignment, and ecosystem engagement, supporting ALU’s ambition to strengthen health institutions and develop future health leaders across the continent.

The Mission Curator plays a unique role in the faculty–one that is highly focused on supporting student learning, experiences, and development in relation to their missions. Mission Curators are both specialists and interdisciplinary advocates, as the most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities require an interdisciplinary approach. Mission Curators are academics with master’s or higher-level qualifications AND deep experience in the world associated with their domain area, with a substantial professional network that spans the Continent and beyond. Mission Curators are educators, coaches, network builders, and door-openers for our students and for ALU’s mission. This Mission Curator will have a focus on healthcare education and systems and will sit within the Centre for Healthcare Innovation and Impact.

The Health Entrepreneurship Lead (HENT Lead) is responsible for leading the execution and operational delivery of all health entrepreneurship programs, venture support initiatives, mentorship frameworks, and events. The HENT Lead ensures ventures progress, programs run smoothly, partners are engaged effectively, and operational excellence is maintained across the Health Entrepreneurship Pillar.
