About the Role:
We are seeking a Welder to join our team at Wager Road facility. In this role, you will be responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures. This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing safe, reliable operation of Eriez equipment that is intended to protect our customers and their customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Assemble products or sub-assemblies using various welding techniques including Mig, Tig, Stick and Flux-cored Arc Welding.
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Set machine for welding (i.e. wire feed, amperage, etc.)
- Prepares, assembles, fit and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Perform sanitary welding tasks efficiently.
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Operate overhead cranes, clamping devices.
- Operate plasma cutter and carbon arc.
- May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
- Able to operate tools including but not limited to hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
- Ability to learn Eriez labor and work order collection system.
- Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Requirements
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Can read, write, and comprehend.
- Have basic computer usage knowledge.
- Can read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
- Have a welding tech degree/certificate or 2+ years of applicable welding experience - may consider if degree in process.
- AWS D.1.1 Certification preferred.
- Visually identify stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel and other materials.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.

- Possess the ability to recognize and avoid safety hazards.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for an extended period.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. This includes the ability to alternate between sitting and standing.

- Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.

Hourly Pay Range: $22.00/ Hr. to $25.00/Hr. (Commensurate with experience)
