Candidates must be available to work weekends and travel for events
Travel is expected to be approximately 30–40%. Attendance at staff meetings, events, and training is required, and travel may include overnight stays.
Base salary: 85K/yearly

The Video Production Manager supports the execution of all video production initiatives for Varsity Spirit under the direction of the Sr. Director of Video Production. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day production operations, coordinating crews and content capture, and delivering high-quality video assets across live broadcasts, social platforms, and marketing campaigns.
This position focuses on execution and operational excellence while supporting the Sr. Director in delivering large-scale productions, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining production standards.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Production Execution and Support
- Support the Sr. Director in executing video production projects from concept through completion
- Assist with writing, producing, shooting, and managing edit workflows
- Ensure all deliverables meet established creative and brand standards, and are delivered in a timely manner
Live Event and Broadcast Support
- Support ESPN and ION (PCL) show execution, including pre-production planning and onsite coordination
- Assist with vendor coordination and production logistics for live broadcasts and streaming
- Provide on-site production support at Varsity Spirit and Varsity All Star events
Event Crewing and Field Production
- Coordinate freelance crew for competitions, camps, and special event-based shoots
- Execute crewing plans, including travel and hotel arrangements
- Create on-site shoot and edit schedules for event crew
- Generate and coordinate pre-event video lists for hotels and competition venues
- Support capture of features, highlights, and event content
Content and Post-Event Management
- Produce social-first content in partnership with social and marketing teams
- Organize and maintain production assets in alignment with archive standards
Marketing Video Execution
- Execute production of marketing videos for summer camps, competitions, and apparel
- Collaborate with marketing teams to translate campaign needs into video deliverables
- Support pre-production planning including locations, talent, and shoot logistics
Production Operations and Coordination
- Support budget tracking and cost management under direction of the Sr. Director (no ownership of budgets)
- Assist with equipment logistics including transport and basic maintenance
- Coordinate with external vendors and freelancers as directed
- Maintain production documentation, schedules, and project tracking

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- 5–8 years of video production experience, ideally in live television broadcasting or live production environments
- Experience supporting sports, entertainment, or live event productions
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communication, English or related field

This job operates in a professional environment while often working at remote locations. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
During events the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 50 lbs. is required.
