Responsibilities:
- Manage, support, and conduct performance reviews for assigned Drivers
- Communicate haul requests to drivers via TDM
- Support drivers, coordinators, and sales team with answering questions through phone or email in a timely manner
- Promptly communicate any delays, issues, or concerns with completing the requested haul
- Partner and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure seamless transportation of equipment
- Maximize utilization of company assets using dispatching and tracking tools
- Make business decisions and answer questions based on understanding of vehicle capacities and capabilities
- Provide after-hours support for emergency haul requests
- Maintain relationships with outside vendors and identify new vendors as needed
- Negotiate prices with third party vendors to remain competitive
- Utilize haul bidding tools available (currently 123Loadboard) to secure the best price for all hauls
- Award bids to carriers for hauls based on price, service level, quality, and availability
- Ensure loads assigned to internal resources are completed following Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Promote a safe work environment and devise action plans to correct unsafe conditions
- Monitor department KPI’s to ensure operational effectiveness
- Immediately follow up with customer complaints regarding hauling or other issues
- Maintain and share knowledge of company products to better serve our customer
- Promote and demonstrate the Ziegler Way
- Converse regularly with drivers and managers to ensure issues at branches and locations are addressed
- Communicate road restrictions to sales group (by state)
- Other duties as assigned by Transportation & Fleet Manager
Qualifications:
- HS degree required, 4-yr degree preferred
- Personal Attributes: Attention to Detail, Customer Focus, Efficiency, Problem Solving, Teamwork
- Strong familiarity with DOT (MN, IA, WI, MO) and FMCSA regulations
- Strong PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Past carrier selection and negotiation experience preferred
- Strong understanding of transportation processes required
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing
- Working Conditions are indoors. Noise level is quiet.

The pay range for this position is
$64,400.00 to $77,250.00Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
