Position Overview:

The Field Applications Engineer serves as the strategic technical advisor and customer success leader for assigned NDI licensees. This role combines technical architecture guidance, hands-on engineering support, and strategic account management to drive successful adoption, product launches, long-term customer success, and growth of the NDI ecosystem.

We are seeking a skilled Field Applications Engineer to join our Customer Success team. The Field Applications Engineer will act as the primary technical point of contact for our Licensees, ensuring that their technical needs are met with expertise and efficiency. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, communication skills, and customer service to maintain and enhance customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary technical advisor to NDI licensees, enabling the design, implementation, and optimization of FPGA-based AV pipelines for NDI workflows— including video processing, SDI-to-NDI/IP bridging, audio handling, and ultra-low-latency routing—while ensuring compliance with NDI and broader AV-over-IP standards.
• Drive successful NDI integration and deployment for licensee products, supporting end- to-end FPGA development (RTL/firmware on Xilinx and Intel SoCs), hardware/software co-design, and real-world validation—delivering expert troubleshooting, performance tuning, and interoperability across NDI-enabled ecosystems.

Feedback Collection and Analysis:

• Own the technical health, adoption, and long-term success of assigned licensees, proactively identifying risks, improving account health, and ensuring successful product launches.
• Develop technical account plans, lead roadmap discussions, executive business reviews, and identify opportunities to expand NDI adoption.
• Gather and analyze feedback from licensees regarding NDI technology, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Quality Assurance: Compliance and Certification Testing:

• Lead interoperability testing, certification readiness, performance benchmarking, and validation across multi-vendor NDI deployments while documenting certification outcomes and recommendations.
• Ensure that licensee products meet NDI standards for interoperability and performance. oversee certification processes to validate compliance with NDI specifications.

Issue Resolution and Improvement:

• Work closely with the Support/Engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues in licensee products. Recommend improvements to NDI technology based on insights gained from working with licensees.

Documentation and Reporting: Technical Documentation:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for NDI technology, including integration guides, quick start documentation, and best practices for licensees.

Reporting:

• Regularly report on licensee project statuses, integration challenges, and feedback to internal teams. Create detailed reports on quality assurance activities, highlighting any issues encountered and the steps taken to resolve them.

Communication/Collaboration:

Internal Collaboration:

• Cross-functional technical initiatives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Certification, and Customer Success while supporting partner onboarding and technical enablement.
• Collaborate with product development, engineering, and sales teams to align licensee needs with NDI technology development. Act as a bridge between licensees and internal teams to ensure that product enhancements meet licensee requirements.

External Communication:

• Represent NDI at customer sites, industry events, trade shows, and partner engagements as a technical expert and trusted advisor.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with licensees, providing updates on NDI technology developments, answering technical queries, and facilitating forums or meetings for knowledge sharing among the NDI community.

Feedback Loop Management:

• Actively collect and analyze Licensee feedback to identify trends and insights.
• Work closely with the product development team to suggest improvements or new features based on the Licensees needs.

Training and Education:

• Organize and conduct training sessions for licensees on NDI technology and updates. Ensure licensees are fully informed and equipped to utilize NDI technology effectively.

Requirements

• Deep experience with FPGA development, embedded systems, chipset-level AV integration, and hardware/software co-design.
• Strong understanding of AV-over-IP networking including multicast, VLANs, QoS, IGMP, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with SDI, HDMI, RTP, SMPTE ST 2110, and related professional video technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong technical background in networking (Layer 3&4), video streaming technologies, and software development.
• Experience with C++ or other programming languages.
• FPGA and Chipset level of AV integration
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
• Experience in technical account management, customer success, or a similar role, preferably within the video technology or broadcast industry.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with NDI technology or similar video over IP technologies is highly desirable.
