Job Summary

At Etched, talent is our biggest advantage. We believe exceptional teams are the single biggest driver of outsized outcomes. As we scale, we’re looking for a Talent Operations Lead to operate at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and systems.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Talent and help build the operating infrastructure behind one of the fastest-scaling teams in technology. You’ll develop models and analytics that inform how we allocate recruiting resources, measure talent density, and make hiring decisions.

This is a high-visibility role with significant ownership. The best candidate will combine the analytical toolkit of a strong operator with development experience: someone equally comfortable analyzing a problem in SQL or Python, building an executive dashboard, and turning a scrappy internal tool into a durable platform. You’ll work on complex, cross-functional problems, influence leadership decisions, and directly shape how Etched scales its team.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Head of Talent to identify bottlenecks, set priorities, and build systems that increase the leverage of the broader talent organization.

• Jump into high-impact problems wherever needed, from candidate research and systems audits to recruiting experiments and team operations.

• Build models, analytics, and dashboards that inform talent strategy and leadership decision-making.

• Design and build internal tools and scalable platforms that automate workflows and turn recruiting data into actionable insights.

• Own talent data infrastructure and reporting, from underlying data models through leadership-facing interfaces.

• Create clear, compelling materials for leadership updates, board decks, and strategic recruiting initiatives.

• Drive people analytics initiatives and high-priority special projects.

You may be a good fit if you have (Must-have qualifications)

• Strong analytical skills across Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, and/or Python.

• High EQ, low ego, and a willingness to move between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

• Bias for action, intellectual curiosity, and comfort operating in ambiguity.

• Ability to take analytics beyond dashboarding and translate prototypes into scalable, maintainable systems.

• Exceptional ability to communicate analysis clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong candidates may also have experience with (Nice-to-have qualifications)

• Experience in talent, people analytics, management consulting, strategy & operations, or another high-intensity operating environment.

• Building internal data platforms, workflow automation, or analytics products from scratch.

• Working with modern data and application stacks, APIs, and AI-enabled developer tools.

We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both and work across disciplines as needed.
