About the Role
We are seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our Professional Services team. Our Professional Services team provides gold standard project management and execution services to RedHelm's clients. The Systems Engineer II executes on the technical Scope of Work for projects, assists the Project Manager with providing progress updates to the client on a weekly basis, and proactively identifies and reports potential issues with the completion of projects. The ideal candidate understands the value of clear and thorough documentation, communication, and teamwork, is comfortable interfacing with clients via video and audio calls and in-person, and takes every opportunity to learn and grow their skillset along the way.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Participate in project planning and delivery of solutions as outlined in the SoW
- Participate in daily SCRUM meetings with pod/Project Manager
- Attend meetings with clients as scheduled by the Project Manager to provide status updates, report on potential issues found in discovery and during execution of a project, and propose solutions whenever possible
- Answer technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teach improved processes, and mentor team members
- Assist Technical Account Managers with project reviews during the scoping process
- Perform email/communication platform migrations as outlined in the SoW
- Perform public and private cloud setup and migrations
- Install and/or upgrade Microsoft Operating Systems
- Install and/or upgrade network device firmware
- Assist with and execute on network switch and server room cable management
- Complete physical setup and configuration of servers, SANs, firewalls, switches, and access points
- Work closely with vendors to ensure the proper execution of software/hardware implementation
- Recognize changes to Scope of Work and alert the Project Manager
- Ensure quality standards are met by completing Quality Assurance checks of completed projects
Required Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience managing and executing technical IT projects

Technical Skill Requirements
- Strong experience working with cloud service platforms, including Azure and Microsoft 365 (tenant management and configuration)
- Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting Windows Server OS, Active Directory, on-premise Exchange, Group Policy, Microsoft SQL, and DNS issues
- Experience with implementation and management of VMware ESXi and vSphere/vCenter; experience with other hypervisor technologies a plus
- Strong experience with Cisco Meraki setup, management, and network configuration
- Working knowledge of VLANs, firewall configuration, and subnetting
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On and MFA implementation; knowledge of OneLogin and DUO a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Technology-related Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or equivalent IT experience
Additional Information
- Travel to customer sites may be required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Must be able to successfully pass state and federal background checks
