World Vision International Nepal’s one-year Traineeship Program, running from January to December, provides fresh graduates with practical work experience, professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to contribute to WVI Nepal’s work while gaining valuable skills and experience for their future careers.
The Sponsorship trainee aims to learn and develop the practical skills on Sponsorship Operations and enhance the capacity by working together with the team as per assigned tasks and assists to achieve World Vision’s (WV) goal of child wellbeing.
This position will assist WVI Nepal’s National Office, Field Offices and Area Program’s Sponsorship department for overall Sponsorship Management including Sponsorship Correspondence, Rich Media and Data by maintaining timeline and WV Global quality standards. This position will work closely with WVI Nepal’s Sponsorship department for the better understanding in and among Sponsorship operations and enhancing skills and capacity on the mentioned professional area.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding Sponsorship and Supporting the Department
- Learn and understand World Vision’s Child Sponsorship approach, Standard, its vision, mission, goals to Child Well being
- Understand key Sponsorship business processes and requirements under Sponsorship operations
- Understand RC data management and Area programs RC profile management
- Understand WV’s Child selection processes
- Understand World Vision’s overall development programming approach and child wellbeing
- Understand the importance of quality correspondence and support NO correspondence team for timely flow of all correspondence to APs and sponsors as per standard
- Understand the importance of Sponsorship Rich Media products and support to review and upload such products in Horizon database
- Be familiar with Sponsorship data base such as Horizon (programmatic and Sponsorship modules), understand the importance of authentic Sponsorship data and support to review and update accurate data in Horizon database
- Understand the WVI Program, project models, and its integration with Sponsorship Operations
- Understand Sponsorship Dashboard and be able to analyze simple data
- Provide administrative and logistic support to the team during Sponsorship Operations peak seasons
Communication and coordination
- Communication and coordination with Field and Area Programme Sponsorship team
- Good coordination and collaboration with other business partners such as finance, Admin, SCM, MEALS and Program
- Provide quick response to concern from field and AP
- Maintain confidentiality
- Communicate information effectively
- Think clearly, deeply & broadly
Personal Development and Growth
- Enhance knowledge of development and WVI Nepal ministry in the WVI Nepal context
- Enhance own management skills, be flexible and adaptable
- Initiate for more learning and development including the cross-functional learning for better understanding of WVI Nepal programming context
- Keep daily learning records and prepare monthly progress reports, regular catch up with supervisor
- Prepare action plan based on the team plans together with supervisors and team members and act accordingly
- Regular catch up with other team members for broader understanding and knowledge on all components of Sponsorship Operations
General Responsibilities
- Attend meetings as per organizational requirement

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Education, training, license, registration and certification
- Bachelor Degree (running) in Social Sciences, Development Studies or relevant field from a recognized university/institute.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Willingness to commit to World Vision’s Vision, Mission and Core Values
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Have clear personal vision for one’s career growth
- Self-motivated and willing to learn and apply new concepts and ideas
- Confident and ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate and coordinate
- Ability to work effectively and sensitively in the diverse cultural context of Nepal
- Good English and Nepali skill: ability to translate contents/letters into English and Nepali
