You’ll join a team of engineers building highly scalable, reliable, and cloud-native security capabilities that process massive volumes of data and power critical security workflows for customers around the world.
Your Impact
As a Software Engineer on the Splunk Enterprise Security team, you will design, develop, and deliver scalable backend services and security capabilities that operate across complex distributed and cloud environments. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, product management, and customers to solve challenging security problems while maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable backend services and security capabilities using Golang and modern cloud-native technologies.
- Build and optimize distributed systems designed to operate reliably across large-scale, high-volume deployment environments.
- Develop solutions using Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker or Podman within complex production environments.
- Own features end-to-end, from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, product management, and customer-facing teams to develop solutions that address real-world security challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on application/backend development.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing production software using Golang.
- 2+ years of experience developing or operating applications in Kubernetes and containerized environments using technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing distributed, cloud-native systems using established software architecture and design principles.
- 2+ years of experience developing CI/CD pipelines and automated test frameworks, including experience with GitLab or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building security, SIEM, observability, data platform, or threat detection solutions.
- Experience working with high-scale distributed systems, large data volumes, event-driven architectures, or globally deployed services.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and technologies, with experience across AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives and collaborate effectively with architecture, product, engineering, and customer stakeholders.
- Experience leveraging AI tools, frameworks, or AI-assisted engineering practices to improve software development and deliver innovative solutions.
