Role Purpose
Omilia Cyber is looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer with strong DevOps expertise to safeguard our AWS cloud ecosystem. Core to the role: adopting GitOps methodologies, developing Terraform, and executing secure updates through CI/CD pipelines. The role leads strategic security projects, automates protection mechanisms, and partners across teams to strengthen cloud security posture.
Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security policies using a Policy as Code approach; write Terraform and deploy changes via peer-reviewed CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate and maintain automated security scanning tools within CI/CD pipelines to catch misconfigurations before they are merged.
- Monitor, manage, and respond to findings using CSPM/CNAPP tools; drive remediation of cloud risks, threats, misconfigurations, and compliance violations with engineering teams.
- Identify and implement cloud controls to strengthen security posture, and validate controls are enforced across the entire cloud ecosystem.
- Design and implement automation that detects non-compliance and self-heals in real time.
- Proactively review and respond to security threats and anomalies from detection and alerting tools; support incident response, penetration test findings, and audit remediation.
- Partner with Engineering, Platform, Compliance, and Product teams to embed security best practices into the SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure products meet or exceed industry regulations and internal standards; maintain security processes, policies, and documentation.
- Support audits and assessments, providing evidence of compliance and driving remediation efforts.
- Review network security controls and access entitlements, eliminating overpermissive access and maintaining least privilege.
Requirements
Technical / Professional Skills
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or a hands-on DevSecOps technical role.
- Deep practical experience writing and managing Terraform, with a strong background in deploying and managing infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep expertise in AWS security services (e.g., Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM, CloudTrail, Config).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Go) for automation tasks.
- In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, Kubernetes, network security, access control, and incident response procedures.
Soft / Behavioural Skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Capacity to lead initiatives and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
Formal Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Security (nice to have).
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, GIAC) are a plus.
- DevOps certifications (e.g., Terraform Certified Associate) are a plus.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security) are a plus.
- Understanding of AI and contact center industries is a plus.
