Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist/Manager to join our Single Cell Multiomics team. This role works closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to develop and support innovative assay products for the BD Rhapsody™ single-cell sequencing platform. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS), along with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead development from feasibility through optimization, verification, validation, and tech transfer to support high-quality product launches.
Partner with commercial, engineering, bioinformatics, quality, and operations teams to launch reagents and consumables.
Support Operations to finalize manufacturing specifications, BOMs, SOPs, and QC protocols.
Provide sustaining support for launched products to maintain consistent quality.
Design and perform hands-on experiments to meet development goals.
Review scientific literature and development data to guide project progress.
Develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations that show Rhapsody platform performance.
Build a collaborative, focused team with clear communication, timely decisions, and strong problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field
8+ years of research experience, including 5+ years of industry experience in a related field
Extensive experience with RNA-seq and other next-generation sequencing techniques, including library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated ability to develop assay products, critically analyze data, and maintain excellent experimental records
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with commercial assay reagent development
Experience with spatial genomics and/or proteomics
Experience with single cell multiomics assays
Experience with biopharma/translational single cell multiomics applications
Experience with NGS library prep automation

$137,500.00 - $220,100.00 USD Annual
