Position Summary
The Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing fixed plant equipment and process systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the processing facilities. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment integrity, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and experienced in maintaining industrial or mining process equipment in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, installation, and repair of fixed plant equipment and associated systems, including pumps, compressors, boilers, fans, and valves.
Conduct preventive maintenance activities such as filter changes, seal inspections, oil level checks, lubrication servicing, and routine equipment adjustments.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required to support maintenance and repair activities.
Operate mobile and material-handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and boom trucks, in accordance with safety procedures.
Maintain plant equipment in compliance with MSHA regulations and other applicable regulatory and company standards.
Perform maintenance and repairs on other mine facilities, including EW systems, infrastructure, and office buildings as needed.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while performing work.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Prior experience in fixed plant or process maintenance, preferably in mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments.
Strong ability to communicate and coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, and other support departments.
Ownership and proper maintenance of required technician-level tools.
Working knowledge of pump, motor, and gearbox installation, repair, and rebuild.
Experience with compressor teardown and rebuild activities.
Understanding of hydraulic system fundamentals and basic troubleshooting.
Ability to perform lubrication services and preventive maintenance on light-duty vehicles.
Familiarity with oil sampling procedures and basic vehicle system diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance service manuals, parts manuals, and technical documentation.
Organized, detail-oriented, and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk long distances over rough, uneven terrain and climb ladders and structures.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Must wear and properly use required PPE, including hard hat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, respirator (as required), and protective clothing.
Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, diesel exhaust, solvents, sulphuric acid, and other hazardous materials.
