Private Duty Pediatric Nurse – RN/LVN
MedCare Pediatric Group is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide one-on-one pediatric private duty nursing care in a home health setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate Pediatric RN, Pediatric LVN, Home Health Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, or Private Duty RN/LVN seeking a consistent night shift schedule and meaningful one-on-one patient care.
The selected nurse will provide skilled nursing care to a pediatric patient with complex medical needs in the West Houston / Energy Corridor area.

- Night Shift: 6:30 PM–4:30 AM

Private Duty Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care in the patient’s home.
- Monitor and assess seizure activity and neurological status.
- Implement seizure precautions and patient safety measures.
- Administer prescribed medications, including rescue medications, as ordered.
- Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions.
- Observe, assess, and document changes in the patient’s condition.
- Assist with bowel management and scheduled or PRN interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Provide caregiver education and support.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition and seizure activity.
- Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current auto liability insurance.
- Minimum of 6 months of pediatric nursing experience in a home health setting is required.
- Experience with pediatric private duty nursing preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with seizure disorders or neurological conditions preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with VNS therapy is a plus.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently in a home health setting.
- Compassionate and patient-centered.
- Dependable and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable providing one-on-one care for medically complex pediatric patients.
- Confident in seizure management and emergency response.
- Comfortable working independently in a home health environment.
