Sobre esta vaga de Podiatrist na Mediix
Wake up to kunanyi / Mount Wellington, finish the day with time for a walk along the Derwent before dinner. Hobart is what the rest of the country used to feel like — and the clinical work here is more interesting than most clinicians expect.
About the opportunity
We're partnering with a well-established Hobart private practice looking for a Podiatrist to join their team. The role is designed for clinicians who want to do good clinical work inside a genuinely supportive team — without the volume pressure, commute drain, or anonymity of a larger city.
Whether you're a new graduate looking for structured mentoring, or an experienced clinician ready for a change of pace without a change of standards, this practice has built a reputation for looking after both patients and staff.
Why Hobart, why this role
- Meaningful caseload — an ageing population, a strong regional referral base, and complexity you don't get in higher-turnover metro clinics
- Genuine liveability — 10–15 minute commutes, the mountain out one window and the harbour out the other, and weekends that don't get eaten by traffic
- Financial breathing room — housing costs well below the mainland capitals, and a lifestyle that doesn't require a second income to enjoy
- Real community — a small-enough city that your GPs know you by name, and referral relationships actually mean something
- Modern clinic — current equipment, current clinical software, and a team that takes standards seriously
What the day looks like
- Comprehensive assessments, diagnoses and evidence-based treatment planning across a diverse caseload
- Routine podiatry care — nail and callus management, general biomechanics, footwear advice
- Complex work — diabetic and high-risk foot assessments, wound care, offloading
- Orthotic prescription, fitting, and rehabilitation program design
- Patient education with a strong preventive-health focus
- Accurate clinical documentation aligned with AHPRA standards
- Participation in case reviews and ongoing team development
Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Podiatry
- Current General Registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- New graduates genuinely welcome — structured mentoring and clinical supervision provided
- Strong communication skills and a genuine focus on patient outcomes
- Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth
What's on offer
- Competitive base salary + superannuation, negotiable based on experience
- Relocation support available for the right interstate or overseas candidate
- Generous CPD allowance and dedicated study leave
- Structured onboarding and mentoring — particularly valuable for early-career clinicians
- Modern clinic, high-quality equipment, and clinical software that supports rather than frustrates
- Flexible rostering built around a genuine work-life balance
- Clear pathway for career progression within a growing multidisciplinary team
