Job Role: Part-time Estimator

Compensation range: $1,000 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to require roughly 15-20 hours per week. As a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your schedule, but availability for occasional collaboration during AU business hours is preferred.

Who The Client Is: We operate within the luxury residential construction and design industry, creating bespoke homes and high-end renovations that combine architectural excellence with exceptional craftsmanship. Our focus is on delivering a seamless experience, guiding clients through every stage of the journey from initial concepts and planning through to construction and completion. 

Role Overview: We're looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Estimator to support the delivery of accurate and timely estimates for high-end residential construction projects in Australia. This is a flexible, remote opportunity suited to someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet estimated deadlines.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and take-offs for high-end residential construction projects.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Produce detailed material and labour estimates using Bluebeam or similar estimating software.
• Ensure estimates are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders as required to clarify project details.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all estimating documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience estimating residential construction projects within the Australian construction industry.
• A solid understanding of Australian construction terminology, methods, and standard building practices.
• Experience using Bluebeam or a comparable estimating software (essential).
• Experience with Buildertrend estimating (preferred but not essential).
• Experience converting take-offs (from Bluebeam or similar) into Excel/CSV format for import into Buildertrend's estimating module (essential)
• Advanced Excel skills (cost plan templates)
• Experience estimating high-end residential projects in the $2M–$10M+ range 
• Ability to estimate from structural engineering drawings, not just architectural 
• Experience costing provisional sums and PC items for bespoke/high-end finishes 
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• The ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and consistently meet deadlines.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that may be set up as either an independent contractor engagement or via an Employer of Record (EOR), depending on client preferences and legal structure.

• Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours
• Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
• Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor” if not employed via EOR)
