We are looking for a talented and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Chilled Division. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing engineering team supporting a fast-paced food manufacturing environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our chilled manufacturing operation. Working as part of the engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities, minimise downtime and help drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing and packaging equipment.

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.

Support production teams to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.

Assist with continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reliability and safety.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and food safety requirements.

Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems.

Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to deliver site performance targets.

Support equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning activities.

Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.

Requirements

• Time-served engineer with an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
• Multi-skilled engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience of planned and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support operational requirements.
• Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or chilled food production.
• Knowledge of PLCs, automation and process control systems.
• Experience using CMMS maintenance systems.
• Understanding of continuous improvement techniques.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
