The Member & Guest Engagement Manager oversees the Portland Campus guest experience and the systems connection and engagement. This role leads the Welcome, Host, Connect, and Café teams while serving as the campus Planning Center specialist, ensuring our people, processes, and data work together effectively. The Manager develops healthy teams, creates clear pathways for connection and discipleship, and helps provide appropriate pastoral care and follow-up as people take their next steps. The role also maintains accurate systems that help us know where people are and how we can best serve and connect them. The goal is to ensure people are welcomed well, personally, pastorally, and spiritually cared for, and intentionally moved toward meaningful engagement in the life of Mannahouse.

- Campus: Portland
- Reports directly to the Portland Campus Pastor
- Works in coordination with the Executive Pastor of Operations on operational matters related to central services, organizational standards, and shared systems
- Provides leadership and oversight to assigned Guest Experience Team Leads and Dream Team members
- Works collaboratively with Portland Campus staff, ministry leaders, and Planning Center Application Champions

- Proven ability to recruit, onboard, and develop Team Leads and delegate responsibly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple teams, schedules, systems, and priorities
- Collaborative approach to working across departments with high standards of accountability
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate and reliable information
- Demonstrates discretion and appropriate confidentiality when handling member, guest, and ministry information
- Proficiency in Planning Center or an equivalent church management system or database
- Analytical skills to translate data into ministry insights and develop clear standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and consistent follow-through
- Strong aptitude for technology, databases, systems, and processes
- Able to work Sundays and other services, events, and ministry activities as required by the position
- Must be a member in good standing of Mannahouse, including consistent attendance, ministry participation, and tithing
RESPONSIBILITIES
Member & Guest Engagement
- Oversees the overall Portland Campus member and guest engagement experience, helping create a clear pathway from first-time attendance to meaningful connection and participation
- Regularly audits guest processes to eliminate friction and improve engagement pathways
- Ensures guests and members expressing interest receive timely follow-up and clear opportunities to take their next step
- Partners with ministry leaders to create effective handoffs into groups, serving, baptism, classes, events, and other discipleship opportunities
- Helps develop processes that move people beyond initial contact toward meaningful engagement in the life of Mannahouse
Guest Experience Team Leadership
- Provides leadership and oversight for the Host, Connect, and Café Teams
- Recruits, onboards, trains, schedules, and develops volunteers within assigned teams
- Recruits, develops, and manages Team Leads who increasingly own the weekly execution and health of their teams
- Monitors volunteer engagement, scheduling, retention, leadership development, and overall team health
- Establishes clear expectations and standards for guest-facing teams and environments
Planning Center & Data Management
- Serves as the Portland Campus database specialist and primary point person for Planning Center
- Maintains the health, accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of the Planning Center database
- Establishes and maintains standards for data entry, duplicate management, household records, contact information, workflows, forms, lists, tags, and other database structures
- Conducts regular database audits, coordinates necessary cleanup, and develops practices that improve data accuracy at the point of entry
- Develops and maintains best practices for the major Planning Center applications used by Mannahouse, excluding Giving
- Helps ministry teams use Planning Center consistently and effectively
- Evaluates how Planning Center applications and ministry processes work together and identifies opportunities to simplify or improve them
- Stays current on relevant Planning Center features, updates, and best practices
- Coordinates with Application Champions to ensure consistent data standards and ownership across ministry areas and provides training, coaching, and troubleshooting support as needed
- Documents and trains staff and volunteers on SOPs for engagement workflows and Planning Center best practices
Reporting & Ministry Insights
- Partners with the Discipleship Pastor to ensure data and reporting effectively support discipleship efforts
- Builds and maintains dashboards, lists, and reports that help leaders understand member and guest engagement and provides leadership with actionable ministry insights
- Helps leaders identify where people are progressing, where they may be getting stuck, and where follow-up is needed
- Regularly surfaces significant trends, gaps, and opportunities to campus leadership
PBC Practicum Leadership
- Supervises and evaluates assigned PBC practicum students, providing clear responsibilities, expectations, coaching, and feedback
- Coordinates with PBC and campus leadership as needed
