Live-In Caregiver – Leland, MI

A family in Leland, MI 49654 is seeking a compassionate, confident, and proactive live-in caregiver to provide post-surgical care and recovery support for an elderly individual in a lakeside summer home. Safety, proactive initiative, and mobility assistance are primary concerns. 

Schedule:

• Full-time Live-In care
• Timeline: September 9th through the end of October

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home
• Pet-free home
• Private accommodations provided in a spacious lakeside summer home (guaranteed full sleep requirements)

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary lead for all mobility needs, including hands-on physical transfers (bed, chairs) and safe accompaniment to/from the bathroom
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), hygiene, dressing, and morning/evening routines
• Prepare daily balanced, nutrient-dense meals to support bone and tissue healing
• Reinforce daily prescribed Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) home exercise plans
• Provide occasional transportation and accompaniment to local medical appointments
• Offer warm companionship, assist with hosting visiting friends, and provide light tech support (e.g., checking emails)
• Assist with general household support needs to ensure a safe, organized environment

Requirements:

• Proven experience in elderly care, post-surgical recovery, and mobility transfers
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for medical appointments
• Proactive mindset focused on safety, fall prevention, and recovery
• Warm, engaging, and encouraging communication style

Compensation:

• $350–$400 per day (commensurate with experience)
