The IT Solution Architect serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business objectives into scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. This role is responsible for analyzing existing business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and modernization, creating future-state architectures, and guiding implementation teams through execution. The Solution Architect works across application development, integrations, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems to ensure technology investments align with business strategy and deliver measurable outcomes. This position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders to translate strategic objectives and operational needs into solution designs, architectural diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
- Design end-to-end solutions across applications, integrations, data platforms, and cloud environments, including future-state architecture models, migration strategies, and solution standards.
- Evaluate current-state business processes and recommend automation opportunities (AI, APIs, workflow platforms, cloud services) that reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering and infrastructure teams, and support Agile planning through design reviews and backlog input.
- Design and govern API strategies, system integrations, and enterprise data flows, including ETL/EDI implementations and interoperability standards.
- Incorporate security, privacy, and compliance requirements into solution designs and participate in risk assessments.
- Evaluate third-party products, support vendor selection, and manage relationships with strategic technology partners.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and serve as a trusted advisor on technology decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of IT experience.
- 4+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior technical leadership roles.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale solutions across multiple technology domains.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of API design and integration, application architecture, data architecture, security and compliance, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Preferred: Experience in healthcare, healthcare administration, insurance, or highly regulated industries.
- Preferred: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent certification.
- Preferred: Experience with AI and automation platforms, enterprise integration platforms, data warehousing and analytics, EDI transactions and industry standards, or CRM/customer experience platforms.
- Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.
