Specific accountabilities assigned to the role of Investment Data Analyst within the Data Office
- Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders across Finance and Investments and the Data Office from an operational perspective.
- Support the Investment Data Manager to maintain a culture of continuous improvements, including automation, on existing data management practices.
- Assist Data Owners and Stewards in their BAU processes to define and manage their data.
- Work closely with data custodians across IT and external technical partners to deliver and manage data products.
- Participate in the ongoing analysis and design initiative by the data office to deliver Investments Data Products.
- Build on existing Investment Data Quality processes to retain and enhance trust in data delivered to the business for Investment and Finance functions.
- Chair a session of the Investment Data Working Group (IDWG) on behalf of the Head of Data Governance, including annual forward planning, agenda setting, and facilitation of pre-IDWG sessions to ensure agendas are aligned to priority topics.
Maintain IDWG governance artefacts and delivery discipline, including managing the IDWG wiki and documentation, producing and distributing minutes, tracking actions to completion, and ensuring timely follow-up with stakeholders.
Requirements
Knowledge
- A good understanding of Fixed Income financial instruments, Swaps & Derivatives and associated data.
- Awareness of Data Governance practices, policies and standards.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with business stakeholders and able to build relationships across the organisation.
- Able to analyse large volumes of data, understand business and technology processes, and read code to quickly and accurately identify the root causes of data issues.
- Proficiency with common reporting and analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Python, Data Management tools, MS Excel, Power BI, Cognos, DQ analysis tools).
- Sound report writing, documentation and presentation skills.
Experience
- Experience in Financial Services, in particular financial securities/assets data.
- Experience with Investment Data Management platforms such as Finbourne’s Lusid.
- Familiarity with Data Comprehension practices and Data management solutions such as Solidatus, IDQ, Collibra etc
