Job Description
As an Insights & Analytics Consultant, you'll partner with leaders across Consumer Banking, Growth Studio, and enterprise teams to transform complex data into actionable insights that influence strategy, improve customer experiences, and drive business performance.
In this role, you'll combine analytics expertise, business acumen, and storytelling skills to solve complex problems, identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and help leaders make confident, data-driven decisions.
You'll lead analytics initiatives from discovery through insight generation, performance measurement, experimentation, and visualization, while serving as a trusted advisor to business partners across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analytics & Business Partnership
- Partner with business leaders to understand objectives, define analytical approaches, and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Translate complex business questions into data-driven solutions and measurable outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer engagement, operational performance, process effectiveness, and business growth.
- Present insights and recommendations through clear, compelling storytelling and visualization.
- Influence decision-making through fact-based analysis and strategic recommendations.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop KPI frameworks, scorecards, and performance metrics to measure business outcomes.
- Conduct exploratory analysis, segmentation, forecasting, root-cause analysis, and performance evaluations.
- Synthesize insights from multiple data sources into actionable business recommendations.
- Maintain analytical rigor through data validation and quality assurance practices.
Advanced Analytics & Experimentation
- Design and evaluate experiments, test-and-learn strategies, and measurement frameworks.
- Apply statistical techniques to validate hypotheses and quantify business impact.
- Support predictive and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Partner with Data Science and Technology teams to operationalize solutions.
Business Intelligence & Visualization
- Develop dashboards, reporting solutions, and self-service analytics tools using Power BI and related technologies.
- Create scalable reporting and visualization solutions that improve transparency and decision-making.
- Automate recurring reporting and analytical processes.
- Promote visualization and reporting best practices.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with Technology, Data Engineering, and Governance teams to improve data accessibility and quality.
- Support enterprise analytics initiatives within cloud-based data environments.
- Mentor analysts and share analytics best practices across the organization.
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Five to seven years of statistical and/or data analytics experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
- Experience consulting with business stakeholders and translating analytical findings into strategic recommendations.
- Experience developing KPI frameworks, scorecards, and performance measurement solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and automation.
- Experience with statistical analysis, experimentation, segmentation, forecasting, or predictive analytics techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar environments.
- Expertise in Power BI and data visualization best practices.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and analytics best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence audiences at all levels.
- Experience mentoring analysts and contributing to analytics best practices.
- Working knowledge of analytics tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Hadoop, Excel, and related technologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
