The International Business (Voice) Department is part of the Carriers & International Business team and is responsible for managing Jazz's wholesale voice operations. We oversee interconnects with local and international LDI carriers, ensuring seamless international outgoing traffic for Jazz and terminating incoming traffic in Pakistan for Jazz and other GSM and Fixed operators.

The role will report directly to the Stream Head International Business (Voice) and will be based in Islamabad, working alongside peers managing various aspects of wholesale voice interconnect operations.

What does the Expert International Business Voice (Techno-Commercial) do?

The Expert International Business Voice (Techno-Commercial) is responsible for managing and growing Jazz’s wholesale voice interconnect operations. This role involves handling local and international LDI partnerships, optimizing traffic flows, negotiating rates and agreements, and ensuring quality and profitability of international voice traffic. The expert also monitors market trends, identifies growth opportunities, resolves disputes, and collaborates with internal teams for seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new international operators.
• Support the development, execution, and management of plans, budgets, and targets for international wholesale voice in alignment with company strategy.
• Identify new interconnect opportunities to maximize revenue.
• Monitor financial performance of the international wholesale voice business and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Negotiate pricing and secure cost reductions for Jazz’s international outgoing traffic with local and international LDI operators.
• Conduct market intelligence and develop business plans to achieve approved targets.
• Perform studies, analysis, and cost evaluations to optimize international outgoing products and services.
• Design and implement international routing plans to enhance cost efficiency.
• Lead end-to-end VoIP network monitoring, fault detection & resolution in real-time.
• Coordinate with interconnect partners for SIP-based troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Manage international and local VoIP route testing, quality benchmarking (ASR, ACD, PDD).
• Monitor live traffic stats and take proactive actions in case of route degradation.
• Analyze CDRs to identify call drops, billing mismatches, or fraud patterns.
• Perform interconnect testing (SIP/SS7/SMPP) with new operators/vendors.
• Coordinate with vendors for new route onboarding, testing, and rate finalization support.
• Handle escalated NOC tickets and ensure timely resolution in coordination with internal/external teams.
• Maintain updated documentation of IPs, routing plans, and interconnect configurations.
• Support service provisioning for enterprise VoIP clients.
• Generate weekly/monthly traffic reports for management and suggest optimizations.
• Ensure compliance with QoS KPIs defined by management or regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate in scheduled maintenance windows and ensure smooth service restoration.
• Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), GSM & TDM architecture.
• Good understanding of routing logic, LCR, CLI/non-CLI handling.
• Comfortable with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot), basic SQL queries for CDR analysis.
• Excellent communication for coordination with vendors and internal commercial team.
• Ability to work under pressure, especially during outages or escalations.

• Market Intelligence: Provide insights and reports oni global voice trends and competitive landscapes.
• Financial Performance: Monitor and manage financial KPIs, ensuring profitability and cost control.
• Traffic Management: Assist commercial teams by giving technical input for traffic management and capacity planning.
• Technical Expertise: Experience in working with softswitches, SBCs, gateways (e.g., Sippy, Porta, FreeSWITCH, etc.). Familiarity with SIP traces (Wireshark/SNGREP) and analyzing call flows.
• Partner Management: Strengthen relationships with existing and new operators for long-term collaborations.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all agreements and operations adhere to regulatory and business standards.

• Education: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Business, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate rates and contracts with international partners.
• Analytical Mindset: Proficient in data analysis, traffic monitoring, and financial forecasting.
• Market Knowledge: Understanding of global telecom trends, LDI operations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with international carriers.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive approach in resolving disputes, optimizing traffic, and handling operational challenges.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with interconnect platforms, routing strategies, and telecom billing systems.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
