We are seeking an experienced Engineering Advisor to support the growth of our Energy Equipment business. In this role, you will work closely with Sales, Commercial, and Application Engineering teams to identify new opportunities, support customers, lead proposal development and technical negotiations, and manage project budgets through handoff.

As the technical lead during the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase, you will define the technical strategy for Baker Hughes’ offerings and serve as the primary technical interface with customers. You will collaborate across engineering, commercial, and support functions to translate RFQ requirements into competitive, technically sound solutions, while ensuring clear and effective technical contract negotiations.

You will be in charge of the preparation, management and negotiation of Baker Hughes technical proposal relevant to and for the estimation/accuracy of the budget associated with the proposed solution, more in detail you will be responsible for:

·       Application Engineering for proposal system integration work on gas turbine / steam turbine/ electric motor & centrifugal compressor opportunities system integration.

·       Providing support to Commercial Operations / sales team and work closely with AE in charge of driver equipment, driven equipment, responsible for technical proposal and relevant activities for products offering in APAC and support other region opportunities when required.

·       Analyzing RFQ (require for quotation) and defining offer strategy in proposal preparation stage. Be responsible for proposals and scope of supply definition, compliance to customer’s technical specifications, coordinate different departments involved in the proposal preparation.

·       Leading technical proposal negotiation, attending technical meeting to align technical offering. Defining project budget and be responsible for cost sheets.

·       Technical reviewing on proposals and handing off to project management team.

·       Performing relevant company risk management activities at whole proposal cycle.

·       Leading opportunity assessment and discussion with stakeholders at global team. Presenting to senior leaders in specific technical space and on cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy. Communicating across the function in area of expertise.

·       Reference point for products system integration at proposal stage, mentoring junior AEs to achieve a certain level.

·       Accountable for high quality & accurate technical proposals for project opportunity to sustain profitable & executable orders.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

·       Have a Bachelor or above in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering from an accredited school.

·       Work as a Mechanical Engineer with signification working experience (>10 years) at Oil&Gas or energy segment with solid technical background.

·       Have excellent knowledge and experience with turbo-machinery equipment such as gas turbine, steam turbine and centrifugal compressors.

·       Have good knowledge of API standards such as API617, 616, 614.

·       Be Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written), bilingual & international experiences is an advantage. Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

·       Work well with others in a team environment. Available for Domestic and international travel. Market and global awareness.

·       Be Flexible in working hours for interactions and meetings with customers and internal functions located around the globe with different time zones.
