About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced EHS Officer to join our Auckland-based team on a part-time basis (3 days per week).

Reporting into the Pacific EHSQ team, you will play a key role in supporting our New Zealand operations, driving compliance, continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture. This position offers exposure to a variety of business functions and projects, creating excellent opportunities for professional growth within a global organisation.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop, implement, and maintain JCI's Integrated Business Management Systems (EHSQ).

• Ensure compliance with company systems through regular audits and assessments.

• Conduct and coordinate site audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

• Support EHSQ reporting and performance metrics across the Pacific region.

• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead quality assurance activities and monitor performance against established procedures.

• Deliver EHSQ and compliance training to employees and stakeholders.

• Assist with incident investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation.

• Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work method statements.

• Coordinate Health & Safety Committee activities and communicate outcomes to key stakeholders.

• Provide expert advice on health, safety, environmental, welfare, and quality matters.

• Manage Return to Work processes and injury management activities.

• Champion best practices and drive a proactive culture aligned to our commitment to Zero Harm.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Qualification in Quality Assurance or a related discipline (preferred).

• Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent.

• Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.

• 3-5 years' experience within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.

• Incident investigation training or qualification (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and quality management systems.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.

• A proactive approach and passion for creating safe, high-performing workplaces.

Compliance Requirements

• Full New Zealand working rights.

• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, criminal history check, and drug and alcohol screening.
