About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Position Summary:

The EHS Manager – Construction directly manages a team of on-site Construction Safety/EHS Specialists across multiple concurrent construction projects within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) group, reporting to the EHS Director. The position translates the EHS Director's program strategy into standardized operational execution across projects, and is accountable for the hiring input, coaching, performance management, and day-to-day supervision of the site EHS Specialists who report to it. The position is responsible for standardizing EHS program implementation, hazard and risk assessment, incident investigation, training and toolbox talks, and ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA/EPA/DOT/state) across the project portfolio while driving a zero-injury program across multiple construction sites, and for reporting program-wide safety performance and risk trends to the EHS Director.

  • Identify project safety equipment needs and ensure availability before kickoff
  • Assist site teams with incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented

  • Evaluate subcontractors and subcontractor safety programs, recommend improvements based on trend analysis, act as an advocate for Redwood by promoting company culture and policies, and present the progress of the project safety program to leadership as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
