Under the direction of the Senior Director, Giving and Events, the Development Coordinator (Temporary – Maternity Leave Coverage) provides administrative and logistical support to JCC Greater Boston's Development team. This temporary position plays a key role in coordinating fundraising events, supporting donor stewardship activities, and assisting with day-to-day development operations to ensure the department runs efficiently.
The Development Coordinator helps execute fundraising events by coordinating logistics, preparing event and donor materials, managing data and records, and providing administrative support for donor communications and stewardship initiatives. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities include, and are not limited to:
Provide fundraising and development event support from planning through post-event evaluation:
- Collaborate with the Development Team on design and planning for large events, including coordinating program books, tracking guest lists, and attending events to assist with days of execution.
- Update back-end Development web presence (Soapbox and Salesforce) and pull data from databases.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure successful and cost-effective events.
- Assist with various administrative tasks, as well as all fundraising aspects of events from vision and mission, managing event website and registration, communications and marketing.
- Work with internal teams and external vendors to secure event sponsorships and in-kind donations. .
- Assist with smaller development and Boston Jewish Film Events as needed.
Support development and fundraising efforts through clear, engaging communications and executive-level preparation:
- Design and create development marketing materials such as stewardships reports, informational pages, and brochures, as well as prepare materials required by CEO and CDO for key meetings/events.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor data:
- Improve and maintain data integrity by collecting and updating all key donor data, including up-to-date contact information, foundation giving and gifts to other institutions.

This is a temporary, limited part-time +/- 20 hours per week, non-exempt position. Requirements
Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
1 + year’s experience in development or marketing field, preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able drive a motor vehicle and to pass a MRV review.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet this minimum hiring criteria.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have strong computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
Requires knowledge and familiarity with fundraising, event management, marketing and/or sales
- Must demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, particularly Excel; experience with Canva, Salesforce, and online fundraising event platforms preferred.
- Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with colleagues, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet goals with accuracy, attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
- Creative, energetic, and self-motivated professional who takes initiative and adapts effectively to changing needs.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills from planning through implementation.
- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Skilled in research, data management, and documentation to support donor strategy and engagement.
- Collaborative team player who also works effectively independently in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- Professional, dependable, and solutions-oriented, with curiosity and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements: Requires some flexibility in hours, must be able to work evenings, weekends and/or irregular hours as necessary to interact with donors and prospects and attend relevant meetings and events. This position can be hybrid; most of the essential tasks require an in-person presence while some may be performed remotely. This position also involves some regular standard desk work; use of computer equipment and standing and sitting frequently.
