ABOUT NT OMNIUM SERVICES — DATA MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

NT Omnium Services is Northern Trust's integrated global operating model for delivering middle- and back-office solutions to clients pursuing complex, multi-asset investment strategies. The Data Management Solutions (DMS) team within Omnium is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant data and reporting solutions that support regulatory obligations, client commitments, and internal risk and control requirements.

The Regulatory Reporting practice partners directly with trading, pricing, investor and accounting teams to meet obligations across global regulatory frameworks including Form PF, AIFMD, CPO-PQR, and SEC Form ADV.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Consultant operates as a senior technical and strategic resource within the Regulatory Reporting team. This role assumes ownership of complex, multi‑jurisdictional regulatory filing programs while driving the design and enhancement of scalable control frameworks, data processes, and client advisory practices.

The Senior Consultant serves as a key liaison between the Regulatory Reporting team and Northern Trust’s technology, compliance, fund accounting, and senior client stakeholders. The role carries significant cross‑functional responsibility and provides high visibility with senior leadership and institutional clients.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Serve as the accountable subject‑matter authority for a defined portfolio of regulatory filing programs spanning Form PF, AIFMD Annex IV, CPO‑PQR, SEC Form ADV, and TIC reporting, ensuring end‑to‑end quality, timeliness, and compliance
  • Proactively monitor regulatory guidance issued by the SEC, CFTC, FCA, ESMA, and other authorities; perform impact assessments and translate regulatory change into actionable operational updates ahead of effective dates
  • Act as the internal escalation authority for complex data exceptions, regulatory interpretation questions, and edge‑case filing scenarios, partnering closely with clients and external teams as needed
  • Lead post‑submission quality reviews and root‑cause analyses, producing structured findings and remediation plans that measurably reduce risk recurrence
  • Operate as a primary senior point of contact for a portfolio of institutional hedge fund clients, providing proactive, solutions‑oriented guidance on regulatory obligations, data requirements, and emerging regulatory developments
  • Develop and deliver client‑facing materials including regulatory briefings, filing summaries, exception analyses, and forward‑looking impact assessments
  • Partner with Relationship Management and senior leadership on client onboarding, expanded mandate scoping, regulatory feasibility analysis, and responses to investor and regulatory inquiries
  • Collaborate across trading, fund accounting, operations, prime brokerage, and compliance teams to ensure complete and accurate reporting across complex client structures
  • Provide structured mentorship and day‑to‑day technical guidance to Analysts and Consultants, fostering deep subject‑matter expertise and professional growth
  • Support Managers in workload planning, quality review, capacity management, and onboarding of new mandates and team members
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of internal training programs, regulatory knowledge resources, and onboarding materials
  • Represent the Reporting function in cross‑divisional initiatives and firm‑wide regulatory programs, translating complex requirements for both technical and non‑technical audiences

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in regulatory reporting, fund administration, investment operations, or a closely related financial services function
  • Deep expertise in at least two regulatory frameworks relevant to alternative investments (e.g., Form PF, AIFMD, CPO‑PQR, SEC Form ADV, TIC), with working knowledge of a broader regulatory landscape
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and at least one analytical or scripting environment (Python, SQL, or equivalent)
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex, deadline‑sensitive workstreams with high precision and accountability
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize ambiguous data into structured findings and executive‑level communication
  • Strong client‑facing communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats

Preferred

  • Audit, assurance, or advisory experience (e.g., Big Four or similar), particularly within financial services or asset management, is strongly preferred given the role’s emphasis on data integrity, controls, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Multi‑jurisdictional regulatory experience spanning U.S. and EMEA regimes and complex fund structures (e.g., master‑feeder, fund‑of‑funds, SMAs, multi‑strategy platforms)
  • Proficiency in BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx, including experience building operational or executive dashboards
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory change and independently developing implementation plans and operational responses
  • CFA, CAIA, or progress toward a relevant professional designation; or pursuit of an advanced quantitative or regulatory degree
  • Prior experience in a senior analytical or advisory role at a global fund administrator, bulge‑bracket bank, Big Four advisory firm, or institutional asset manager
  • Experience with regulatory change management, including gap analysis, system testing, parallel runs, and stakeholder communication
