An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data and Reporting Analyst to join the Civil Services team.
As a Data and Reporting Analyst, you will work closely with colleagues across Civil Services to understand business needs for the acquisition, manipulation and presentation of data. You will propose and implement novel solutions to meet business needs, often taking a leading role within integrated teams.
You will proactively exploit our data capability, expanding and developing executive data sets to create a simple, quality foundation of integrated data to support the rapidly growing needs of the business.
What you will be doing:
Working closely with colleagues across Civil Services to understand business needs for the acquisition, manipulation and presentation of data.
Proactively exploiting our data capability, expanding and developing executive data sets to create a simple, quality foundation of integrated data to support the rapidly growing needs of the business.
Working within standard project methodology to carry out controlled definition, design, build and test, verification and roll-out of optimised data supply chains.
Ensuring effective management of established data supply chains, including the provision of ongoing technical support.
Proposing and implementing novel data and reporting solutions to meet business needs, often taking a leading role within integrated teams.
Continually optimising tools and techniques in accordance with company policy, challenging where appropriate.
Bringing emerging technologies and best practice into the company to improve data service delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.
Ensuring customer requirements are fully understood and adequately captured and translated into effective data solutions.
Position Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience of data analysis, management and reporting, with the ability to acquire, manipulate and present data to meet business requirements.
Expertise in data management tools, techniques and technologies.
Experience of developing, supporting and/or maintaining integrated data sets and data supply chains.
Ability to understand business and customer requirements and translate these into effective data and reporting solutions.
Strong drive for delivering results and continuous improvement.
Ability to work effectively within integrated and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with one or more relevant data and reporting technologies, including IBM Maximo, MS Access, MS Excel including VBA, COGNOS or other OLAP technologies, Oracle, SAP and Power Apps.
Project and/or task management experience, preferably in the delivery of IT or data solutions.
Experience of managing or applying data standards across organisational boundaries.
Knowledge of emerging data technologies and industry best practice.
Experience of identifying and implementing opportunities to improve data service delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.
Experience of taking a leading role in the development or implementation of data and reporting solutions.
