Your opportunity
As a Chef (Casual), you will use your culinary expertise to create nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health, wellbeing, and enjoyment of our residents every day.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
- Ensure residents are provided with nutritious meals on time, prepared and served according to Anglicare’s high standards.
- Direct, monitor, and train kitchen staff to meet production and distribution deadlines, ensuring meals are served efficiently.
- Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with Anglicare and industry regulations (HACCP and WHS policies).
- Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and kitchen equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Monitor food quality from preparation to service, suggesting improvements to enhance the dining experience for residents.
- Act as a mentor to your team by providing on-the-job training, setting clear expectations, and fostering a cooperative and respectful work environment.
- Play a key role in upholding Anglicare’s Christian values, leading by example in demonstrating integrity, compassion, and excellence in all aspects of your work.
What you’ll bring
You will have proven experience as a Chef with strong leadership capabilities, a passion for delivering nutritious and high-quality meals, and a solid understanding of food safety, HACCP, and WHS standards. You will bring excellent communication and organisational skills, alongside a compassionate, resident-focused approach that aligns with Anglicare's values of Integrity, Justice, Compassion, and Excellence.
What’s required:
- Commercial Cookery Certificate (or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years' experience in the food industry, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and workplace health and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Passionate about creating high-quality meals and enhancing the dining experience for older Australians
What’s preferred:
- Experience within aged care, retirement living, healthcare, property, or related service-based industries will be highly regarded.
