Job Description

Peterson Trucks has a need for Casual Help/Delivery Driver at our San Martin, CA location. This job is limited duration lasting six months or less.

The Parts Delivery Driver will drive a passenger truck to deliver and sell products or render services, collects money from customers, and makes change by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Drives Company truck in safe manner to deliver parts to customer's place of business.
• Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
• Writes customer orders to include customer’s instructions.
• Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.
• Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
• Listens to and relays service complaints to supervisor.
• Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
• Loads truck with parts to be delivered up to 50lbs.
• Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs routine maintenance on truck, checks lights, water, oil, and maintains the inside of the truck clean.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.  
• Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. 
• Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.  

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of driving experience and three to six months of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

The hourly pay range for this position is: $22.08 - $25.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
