The Infrastructure Platform
The Infrastructure Platform includes Finance, Global Operations, Human Resources, Technology, Infrastructure Business Enablement, and Legal, Compliance & Risk. Together, these teams support the firm's operations, people, technology, and risk management capabilities, helping Wellington deliver exceptional outcomes for clients around the world.
About the Role
The Business Associate (BA) role is an exciting opportunity for graduating undergraduate students interested in exploring career paths within the investment management industry. Based in Boston and aligned with our Infrastructure Platform, this role provides exposure to our business, culture, and operations while helping Associates develop the skills needed to succeed in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Associates are placed on teams based on a combination of their skills, interests, and business needs. In their roles, Associates take on meaningful responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across the firm, and contribute to their team's priorities while building a strong foundation for their careers.
We expect new Associates to join the firm in July 2027. Upon joining, Associates participate in Basecamp, our orientation program designed to provide foundational knowledge of Wellington, our clients, the investment management industry, and our culture while helping new joiners build connections across the firm.
What You'll Do
As a Business Associate within the Infrastructure Platform, opportunities may exist in Finance, Global Operations, Legal & Compliance, and Enterprise Risk. You will have the opportunity to indicate your preferences during the application process.
Finance
The Finance team provides financial stewardship and strategic support across Wellington's global business. Through financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, expense management, tax, and corporate finance activities, the team helps guide business decisions, allocate resources, and support the firm's long-term growth. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Ensure the books and records of assigned legal entities are maintained in accordance with GAAP
Assist with the preparation of financial statements in conjunction with annual audits
Prepare filings and surveys for regulatory agencies while meeting strict deadlines
Recommend process improvements and efficiencies
Support daily cash management processes, including payment execution, liquidity management, and forecasting
Perform analysis related to foreign currency activities, hedging, and long-term investments
Prepare monthly and ad hoc reporting on investments, hedging results, and liquidity management
Assist with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and expense analysis
Support projects related to financial analysis and strategic investments
Global Operations
This function drives the firm's operational edge to exceed the investment and service expectations of our clients worldwide. Working across investment, client, and infrastructure teams, the group designs and executes the processes, controls, and infrastructure that support Wellington's world-class investment strategies and client relationships. The team plays a critical role in supporting client onboarding and servicing, investment activities, operational reporting, and responding to the evolving needs of our global client base. Responsibilities may vary based on team assignment and may include:
Supporting day-to-day operational processes
Contributing to process improvement initiatives
Assisting with data management and reporting
Supporting risk mitigation and control activities
Collaborating with teams across the firm to deliver operational excellence
Legal & Compliance
The Legal & Compliance group supports Wellington's global business through regulatory oversight, legal support, and compliance programs. Associates gain exposure to the legal and regulatory frameworks that support the firm's business activities.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Monitor personal trading, gifts and entertainment, political contributions, conflicts of interest, and other activities for compliance with firm policies
Participate in compliance testing programs designed to assess adherence to policies and procedures
Assist with the preparation and filing of global regulatory and beneficial ownership filings
Partner with compliance professionals on projects supporting the compliance program
Support capital markets initiatives related to derivatives trading and private equity transactions
Assist with the review and negotiation of investment management agreements
Partner with attorneys and analysts on projects supporting regulatory initiatives
Enterprise Risk
Enterprise Risk helps the firm identify, measure, and manage risks across portfolios and business activities through independent oversight, analytics, and partnership across the organization.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Support risk monitoring and reporting activities
Analyze portfolio and business risks
Assist with risk management initiatives
Partner with colleagues across the firm to evaluate potential risks
Contribute to projects that strengthen the firm's risk management framework

Who Should Apply
Undergraduates from all majors graduating with a bachelor's degree between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027
Demonstrated interest in investment management
Curious and adaptable, with an interest in leveraging emerging technologies and AI tools to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and discover smarter ways of working
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Demonstrated accomplishments in academics
Proven leadership experience and participation in community service and extracurricular activities
Highest ethical standards and integrity
Well organized, able to multi-task, and detail-oriented
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information
