This role will assist the Supervisor, Facilities in ensuring the efficient operation of building engineering
activities and will coordinate with vendors and subcontractors as needed. Support preventive
maintenance and repairs for building systems, equipment, and facilities; monitor and improve building
operations; and contribute to trade-related tasks such as light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work,
painting, roofing, and HVAC maintenance.
Essential Key Responsibilities
Assist the Supervisor, Facilities with operations and maintenance of all air conditioning and heating equipment, water heaters and boilers, primary electrical switchgear and sub-panels, refrigeration equipment, and the operation of digital automatic temperature control systems.
Works with vendors to supervise the operation and maintenance of fire/smoke detection and suppression systems. Perform preventative maintenance and maintains all inspections records.
Participates in the development, review, and updates to the Dun & Bradstreet Facilities Plan.
Supports minor plumbing, electrical refrigeration, and carpentry work. Conducts minor paint touchups, floor/tile repair, and office furniture repair/reconfiguration.
Performs assigned work orders/repairs and/or provides technical and procedural troubleshooting solutions. Arranges for subcontractors as needed.
Formulates and implements a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
Oversee and inspect the work performed by subcontractors. Determines that work is complete, equipment is fully functional, and systems is in prime working condition.
Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
Essential Skills and/or Certifications
Associate's degree or equivalent or technical school and a minimum of 7 years related experience and/or training.
Certification in one or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Can substitute certification with equivalent military training or experience.
Familiar with maintenance or facility operations to include; vendor management, safety, maintenance, and organizing maintenance schedules
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to solve problems that require advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to peers and vendors.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
Excellent communication skills (Both Oral and Written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills
