Burson Malaysia is looking for an Account Executive with a growth mindset to join our team and support a portfolio of local, regional, and global clients. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career with a global communications leader that sits at the intersection of creativity, reputation, data, and technology.
As an Account Executive, you will work closely with account teams to support the planning and execution of integrated communications campaigns. You will contribute to media relations, influencer engagement, content development, social and digital communications, and data-driven insights that help clients achieve their business and reputation goals.
We're looking for individuals who are curious, proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn. Successful candidates will have an interest in emerging technologies, including AI-powered communications tools, and understand how data and insights can strengthen communications strategies and campaign performance.
What you'll do:
- Support the day-to-day management of client accounts and contribute to the successful delivery of integrated communications programmes.
- Conduct research and gather market, audience, media, influencer, and competitive insights to support client recommendations and campaign development.
- Develop and maintain media and influencer lists, build relationships with journalists, content creators, and key opinion leaders.
- Draft press materials, media pitches, briefing documents, reports, social media content, and other communications materials.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign performance using media monitoring, social listening, and data intelligence tools.
- Assist in identifying relevant influencers and support the planning, coordination, and execution of influencer engagement programmes.
- Support event management, media engagements, and client activations, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and on time.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for client campaigns by combining creativity, cultural insights, influencer trends, audience intelligence, and emerging AI-enabled tools.
Experience that contributes to success:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in public relations, communications, influencer marketing, digital communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience developing content across traditional, digital, and social channels.
- Understanding of media relations, influencer engagement, and integrated communications campaigns.
- Ability to interpret data, audience insights, media intelligence, and campaign analytics to support strategic recommendations and measure success.
- Familiarity with AI and generative AI tools for research, content development, insights generation, and productivity, with the ability to critically evaluate and refine outputs.
