About the role 

As a QA Engineer you will work with acceptance testing, regression testing, test automation and overall providing the highest quality experience to users. 

• Identify business requirements and work closely with the product owner, developers to find solutions, providing feedback and ensuring they are fit for purpose 
• Write acceptance criteria for requirements 
• Perform manual testing (exploratory and non-functional) and log results 
• Review results of automated tests and log defects 
• Performance, stress test 
• Identify, maintain and drive bespoke test automation solutions 
• Monitor and measure test coverage to improve test scenarios 
• Provide feedback/input on the techniques, solutions and tools used throughout projects 

We are looking for you if you have:  

• Experience with JavaScript for test automation, tools and frameworks such as SoapUI, ReadyAPI or other API testing tools, Cypress 
• BDD approach to software development
• Experience in test automation within an Agile environment 
• A risk-based approach to testing 
• Non-functional aspects of web application testing, such as UI, Accessibility, Security and Performance
• Experience in following would be a big plus: MQTT, JIRA, OAuth2, JMS, Jenkins, AWS

You will lead a Warsaw-based engineering team within the Box Extract organization. This team operates within the application layer, responsible for turning advanced AI capabilities (OCR and LLM-based Extract Agents) into a scalable, customer-facing product.

Who you are:

• People-first engineering leader with 2+ years of engineering management experience and strong technical background
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
• Comfortable operating across both backend and frontend concepts (full-stack awareness)
• Strong technical judgment — able to evaluate system design decisions, trade-offs, and engineering approaches
• Experience working in data-driven environments (metrics such as velocity, predictability, delivery performance)
• Skilled at building and growing teams, supporting both senior and junior engineers
• Clear, concise communicator who values transparency and proactive risk management
• Effective stakeholder manager, able to collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams (including US-based partners)
• Comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments with dependencies across teams
• Proficient in English

Nice to have:

• Experience in SaaS or product-driven companies
• Exposure to AI/ML-powered systems or data processing platforms
• Experience working with distributed, international teams

Responsibilities:

• Build, lead, and grow a engineering team (5–7 engineers) in Warsaw
• Define the team’s roadmap, execution strategy, and own delivery outcomes
• Ensure strong delivery predictability, including planning, estimation, and execution
• Partner with engineers on system design and technical decisions (non-coding role)
• Develop team members through 1:1s, coaching, performance management, and hiring
• Establish a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture
• Drive high standards in execution, quality, and scalability
• Organize team processes (stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions) and track progress
• Collaborate with product and partner teams to scope initiatives and align on priorities
• Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders across regions
• Proactively identify risks and ensure transparency in delivery
• Represent Box internally and externally
