We are looking for a Backend Python Developer to join our internal team at RTB House. You will work on applications and tools that directly support our real-time bidding business, collaborating with experienced engineers and product teams. This position is ideal for developers who want to grow their skills, solve real-world problems, and build reliable software that makes a visible difference.

You Will:

• Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications responsible for ad campaigns management, e.g. configuration, monitoring, automation
• Implement jobs and processes to integrate internal services
• Contribute to the development of internal Python libraries and shared frameworks
• Write and maintain unit/integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Identify issues and propose improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and stability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing workflows
• Apply best practices in application design, databases, and APIs

Desired Experience:

• Solid experience in backend development with Python
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to write efficient SQL queries (PostgreSQL, BigQuery is a plus)
• Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs conventions and best practices
• Experience in asynchronous programming
• Good understanding of system design concepts (e.g. scalability, caching, reliability) and willingness to learn more
• Experience with writing and maintaining tests
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work methodically through technical challenges
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Fluency in English

Your key skills and capabilities: 

• Strong SQL and Python skills  

• Data modelling experience (dimensional, relational, or similar)  

• Experience building and maintaining backend systems  

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure  

• Understanding of APIs, containers, and backend development best practices 

• Implementing cloud-native data platforms 

• Engineering scalable and reliable pipelines 

• Good knowledge of distributed computing with Spark

• Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud resources

• Model Deployment & Serving – Deploy and manage ML models using MLflow, Azure ML, SageMaker, or similar, ensuring scalability and performance  

• Monitoring & Retraining – Set up model drift detection, performance monitoring, and automated retraining   

• ML Pipelines & CI/CD – Automate end-to-end ML workflows 

Key tasks:  

• Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services for our SaaS platform  

• Work with SQL and Python daily to build robust data pipelines and transformations  

• Model, structure, and query data to support product features and reporting  

• Integrate and maintain data ingestion flows (e.g., Fivetran, custom connectors)  

• Implement backend APIs (FastAPI) to power our web application  

• Work with our cloud environment (Azure - experience with AWS or GCP also valuable)  

• Collaborate with teammates to plan, build, and deploy features in an Agile way 

• Contribute to CI/CD workflows, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code 

We expect you to have some knowledge about how to architect, design, develop, deploy, and operate a data platform.
