About you

Your key skills and capabilities:
- Designing and implementing robust python testing automation frameworks using BDD (Behave)
- ETL Testing: Proven experience in testing ETL pipelines, data validation, and ensuring data quality
- Scripting automated tests and working collaboratively with other engineers in a continuous build environment
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as AWS pipelines, Github actions
- Understanding of cloud architecture principles preferably AWS and/or GCP
- Data Testing experience - Ability to understand data requirements and perform comprehensive data testing
- Understanding of data engineering
- Excellent PyTest and SQL skills
Nice to have:
- Behave BDD experience
We expect you to have some knowledge about best practices in designing and building scalable and performant cloud-native data platforms and be comfortable with testing them.

- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Data modelling experience (dimensional, relational, or similar)
- Experience building and maintaining backend systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of APIs, containers, and backend development best practices
- Implementing cloud-native data platforms
- Engineering scalable and reliable pipelines
- Good knowledge of distributed computing with Spark
- Understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices
- Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud resources
- Agile ways of working
- Experience in cloud automation and orchestration using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
- Monitoring and performance tuning of cloud-based applications and services
Nice to haves:
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, CubeJS
- Experience with Databricks, PySpark, ML workflows
- Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps).
- Frontend development experience (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Model Deployment & Serving – Deploy and manage ML models using MLflow, Azure ML, SageMaker, or similar, ensuring scalability and performance
- Monitoring & Retraining – Set up model drift detection, performance monitoring, and automated retraining
- ML Pipelines & CI/CD – Automate end-to-end ML workflows
Key tasks:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services for our SaaS platform
- Work with SQL and Python daily to build robust data pipelines and transformations
- Model, structure, and query data to support product features and reporting
- Integrate and maintain data ingestion flows (e.g., Fivetran, custom connectors)
- Implement backend APIs (FastAPI) to power our web application
- Work with our cloud environment (Azure - experience with AWS or GCP also valuable)
- Collaborate with teammates to plan, build, and deploy features in an Agile way
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code

- Gathering and documenting business and project requirements
- Managing stakeholders of differing levels
- Analysing and profiling large and complex datasets
- Managing a team backlog using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
- Agile ways of working
- Familiar with Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems
- Creating conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Creating mapping specifications for data migrations
- Coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
- Excellent SQL skills
- Knowledge of python (pandas)
- Experience with Cloud platforms
- Creating data dashboards using Tableau, PowerBI or Qlik and story telling

- Engage with either AWS or GCP cloud ecosystems to ensure best practise development for new and existing solutions
- Build, deploy and manage Cloud Infrastructure through with IaC concepts
- Hands on experience with serverless services such as AWS’ S3, Glue or Lake Formation and GCP’s Cloud Functions, Big Query or Data Fusion
- Integrate native cloud services with 3rd party solutions through the offered networking solutions
- Understanding of the Python ecosystem from local development to production environments
- Experience of DevOps approaches supported with Python
- Work within a delivery focused team using Agile methodologies
- Comfortable with Docker and some exposure to orchestration tools
- Review and implement security best practices within cloud environments
