The Position 

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Automation QA Engineer to join our OESIS Framework team. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and integration of our OESIS across diverse environments through an automation-first and AI-driven testing approach. 

You will design intelligent test systems, validate OESIS behavior at system and integration levels, and leverage AI/ML techniques to enhance test effectiveness and efficiency. 

What you will be doing: 

Automation & OESIS Quality Engineering 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for OESIS validation (preferably using Robot Framework and Python). 

• Drive an automation-first testing strategy for OESIS components and integrations. 

• Ensure high test coverage across: 

• Functional and regression testing

• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues. 

AI-First Testing Innovation

Shift-Left & Agile Collaboration

• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and align testing with sprint goals. 

OESIS & Integration Testing 

• Validate OESIS functionality across different operating systems, environments, and third-party integrations. 

• Perform API testing (RESTful services) using tools like Postman or custom scripts. 

• Ensure OESIS reliability, backward compatibility, and ease of integration for customers. 

CI Integration & Continuous Testing 

• Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). 

• Support continuous testing practices to ensure fast and reliable feedback cycles. 

Quality & Continuous Improvement 

• Investigate and reproduce customer-reported OESIS issues. 

• Continuously improve automation frameworks, test coverage, and QA processes. 

• Promote a quality-first mindset within the team. 

What We Need From You 

• Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer (2 years minimum). 

• Strong experience building or maintaining automation frameworks (Robot Framework preferred, or similar tools) (2 years minimum). 

• Solid programming skills in Python (or Java/Groovy) (2 years minimum). 

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, exploratory). 

• Hands-on experience with API testing. 

• Experience with CI pipelines and version control (Git) (1 years minimum).. 

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

• Good English communication skills is a plus. 

AI-Focused Skills (Highly Preferred)

Required:

• 3+ in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally additional experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).

As a Software QA Engineer, whilst being technical and hands-on capable, you will oversee and input to all aspects of quality assurance including applying industry best practices, developing new testing solutions and methods, and establishing metrics. Managing the successful delivery of projects will require you to plan, coordinate and lead activities across the full delivery lifecycle. This will include working closely with the department’s Product Managers, coordinating with QA and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required.

This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business.

Major Responsibilities  

• Follow and evolve QA processes to ensure the use of industry-accepted best practices.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures including regressions tests.
• Ensure effective and efficient application of test processes and tools using techniques such as White box, Grey Box, Black box, Test-to-Pass, Test-to-Fail
• Troubleshoot and investigate defects for the software applications.
• Report defects found during testing using Jira as a defect tracking tool.

Additional Responsibilities

There is a strong possibility that this role will also take on Scrum Master responsibilities, which may account for approximately 10 to 20 percent of the overall workload. These responsibilities may include facilitating Scrum ceremonies, supporting sprint planning and retrospectives, removing impediments, and helping the team continuously improve its delivery practices.

Prior experience as a Scrum Master is not required, although it would be considered an advantage. What is essential is a willingness to learn and develop Scrum facilitation skills with the support and guidance of peers.

About The Role (What you will get to do)

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer will work with the team to develop, maintain, and execute automated tests primarily using Cypress.io. 

The QA Engineer will serve as a critical member of the quality assurance team, and will be responsible for upholding test code quality standards through code review and coaching. This role will also develop tooling and lay technical foundations to enrich our QA capabilities, while participating in agile ceremonies with their assigned development teams and manually testing new features as they become code complete.

Responsibilities (What we expect)

• Develop & maintain test automation frameworks and automated tests to support day to day operations of web platforms.
• Work together with other Quality Engineers to ensure effective verification of test specifications and requirements.

• Within your first two weeks, you will have a basic understanding of the Persefoni platform, the roles of the teams that are building it, and where your contributions will  be the most valuable. You will shadow other QA Engineers to understand the technology and tools we are using, our internal best practices, and start to develop a deep understanding of QA at Persefoni.
• Within your first four weeks, you will understand the needs of our growing QA infrastructure and begin to develop automated tests, quickly and effectively growing our test repo to increase coverage of existing features.
• Within six weeks of your start date, you will grow to fully support one or more application teams by developing automated tests for all new features being developed.
