The anticipated base salary range for this role is 65,000 CAD to 75,000 CAD annually, based on skills and experience. The offered salary is just part of the total compensation package. Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Modelers!
Creates and builds computer generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs. Prepares and builds models for characters and stand-ins for layout. Develops prop elements for effects. Creates environmental sets and structures. May focus on developing technical drawings for model productions. Writes, maintains and runs Makefiles, scripts and model databases. Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets. Able to develop models for multiple types of productions from simple to moderately difficult. Candidate is accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress. Interact with production, supervisors and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes and feedback. Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya, Mudbox/Z brush, 3d Coat/topogun/paraform Linux and scripting ability in relevant languages including MEL, Perl and Python a plus. Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $25.96 to $34.62/hr and for an Intermediate position is $36.06 to $48.08/hr.
