We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Analyst - Performance & Emissions to be based in London, UK. 

General Description:

The Analyst - Performance & Emissions will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating vessel performance against TCP warranties, using voyage reports and sensor data. Another key aspect of the role is to capture and analyze data related to VGC’s chartered Fleet’s international emission regulations and enable the day-to-day administration of emission reporting to relevant authorities.

This position will sit within the VGC Shipping Fleet Performance & Emissions Team, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager - Fleet Performance and Emissions, and will play a key role in enhancing value for VGC’s chartered fleet. Strong digital and analytical skills are essential for handling large complex data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fleet Performance & Emissions Compliance System Development Support:Support the development of systems for monitoring, recording, and evaluating LNG fleet performance and emissions exposure.
• Regulatory Upkeep:Maintain records related to environmental regulations, ensuring data accuracy for submissions to classification societies.
• Performance Monitoring:Assist in monitoring vessel performance and highlighting underperformance against Charterparty warranties.
• Compliance Coordination:Monitor and report on emission compliance requirements, including deadlines and documentary evidence.
• Routing Evaluation:Utilize weather routing and voyage reporting services to assist in evaluating optimized ship routing.
• Analytical Support:Help develop and maintain analytical models to derive various performance and emission KPIs. In addition, there will be analytical needs from Shipping Operations, Chartering
• Platform Collaboration:Collaborate with IT on the development of a live monitoring platform for VGC chartered ships.
• Fleet Management Support:Actively support the management of the LNG carrier fleet through procedure development and software implementation.
• Stakeholder & Claims Support:Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and assist in LNG performance claims management.
• Ad-hoc Tasks:Provide supplementary support and complete tasks as requested by the line manager.

Experience & Skills

Essential

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Data Analytics or Data Science.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, Databricks, SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, and Excel.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the LNG supply chain, international maritime emission regulations, and LNG Time Charter Parties.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in a complementary field (Data Science, Computer Science).

Advantageous

• LNG Shipping Operations: Familiarity with cargo scheduling, shipping operations, and LNG marketing.

As an Arrears Executive at Tandem your focus will be on: 

• Proactively service requests from our customers efficiently and professionally ensuring at you provide the customer with the information that they require.  

• Proactively manage all customer service-related inbound communication (via telephone, correspondence, email, portal) from customers and third parties as part of the servicing and arrears management of a range of mortgage and loan products. 

• Ensure regulatory transactional documentation is issued accurately and correctly in accordance with regulatory requirements (including regulatory arrears correspondence).  

• Identify situations that may require specialist handling (e.g. complaints, vulnerability, fraud) and refer these where appropriate.  

• Knowledge and practical application of handling customer complaints, to include identifying complaints, logging and investigating with an aim to putting a resolution in place.  

• Knowledge and practical application of dealing with vulnerable customers at first point of contact to ensure their specific needs are understood and they are treated with care and consideration.  

• Proactively manage accounts in arrears by completing outbound contact to establish the root cause of the customers payment difficulties and identify options to assist the customer in rehabilitating their mortgage or loan arrears.   

• Negotiate with customers and authorised third parties in financial difficulty regarding how to repay their arrears taking into consideration their individual personal circumstances.  

• Knowledge and practical application of completing Income and Expenditure assessments and deciding suitable forbearance options for the customer.   

• Knowledge and practical application of late arrears and litigation practices.  

• Ensure that all customer contact both written and verbal is conducted within Company standards, FCA regulations, Customer Complaint procedures and that the principles of TCF are upheld consistently with all customers.  

• Attain and maintain own competence to Group Training and Competence Framework demonstrated by ongoing adherence.  

• Proactively challenge existing processes and take ownership for implementing positive changes which are within own span of control.  

• Keep up to date with all Company/regulatory changes particularly those which affect own business area.

As an Arrears Executive at Tandem your focus will be on: 

• Proactively service requests from our customers efficiently and professionally ensuring at you provide the customer with the information that they require.  

• Proactively manage all customer service-related inbound communication (via telephone, correspondence, email, portal) from customers and third parties as part of the servicing and arrears management of a range of mortgage and loan products. 

• Ensure regulatory transactional documentation is issued accurately and correctly in accordance with regulatory requirements (including regulatory arrears correspondence).  

• Identify situations that may require specialist handling (e.g. complaints, vulnerability, fraud) and refer these where appropriate.  

• Knowledge and practical application of handling customer complaints, to include identifying complaints, logging and investigating with an aim to putting a resolution in place.  

• Knowledge and practical application of dealing with vulnerable customers at first point of contact to ensure their specific needs are understood and they are treated with care and consideration.  

• Proactively manage accounts in arrears by completing outbound contact to establish the root cause of the customers payment difficulties and identify options to assist the customer in rehabilitating their mortgage or loan arrears.   

• Negotiate with customers and authorised third parties in financial difficulty regarding how to repay their arrears taking into consideration their individual personal circumstances.  

• Knowledge and practical application of completing Income and Expenditure assessments and deciding suitable forbearance options for the customer.   

• Knowledge and practical application of late arrears and litigation practices.  

• Ensure that all customer contact both written and verbal is conducted within Company standards, FCA regulations, Customer Complaint procedures and that the principles of TCF are upheld consistently with all customers.  

• Attain and maintain own competence to Group Training and Competence Framework demonstrated by ongoing adherence.  

• Proactively challenge existing processes and take ownership for implementing positive changes which are within own span of control.  

• Keep up to date with all Company/regulatory changes particularly those which affect own business area.  

• Actively contribute to the achievement of the Company Balance Scorecard objectives and demonstrating Company values in everything you do.  

• Adherence to and promotion of a culture of treating our customers fairly to deliver fair outcomes.

• Previous experience in financial services (with relevant regulatory appreciation) with demonstrable success in customer service and arrears within a regulated lending environment.  

• Demonstrable experience of working accounts in arrears including applying arrears forbearance options and identification of customers that are vulnerable.  

• Demonstrable experience of collecting arrears for mortgages and loans with knowledge of how own and team performance affects wider Company objectives.  

• Demonstrable knowledge of FCA rules (including MCOB and CONC rules), delivering fair outcomes to customers, CCA and GDPR regulations.  

• A working knowledge of customer services and arrears management in a regulated, lending environment.

Joining the Shipping Operations team in London, you will hold a fundamental position in a team that manages the transport of LNG globally. 

As a Shipping Operator, you will closely interact with Marketing/Trading Representatives, Vessels, Vessel Managers/Owners, Agents, Inspection Companies and Customers to coordinate LNG shipping activity, ensuring contractual and regulatory requirements are met.

Job responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee global LNG shipping operations, including but not limited to pre- and post-fixture voyage requirements, voyage tracking and reporting, vetting, appointing agents, appointing surveyors whilst always ensuring contractual obligations and regulatory compliance. 
• Marine services procurement as necessary, including bunkering and canal/strait transits.
• Evaluate and assess optimisation opportunities considering the risk and return to the portfolio.
• Conduct operations in compliance with HSSE and company standards; recognize and correct out-of-compliance conditions.
• Contribute to the execution commercial agreements, including TCPs, MSPAs, CNs, vessel performance claims, off-hire claims and demurrage claims.
• Maintain and update internal systems in a timely fashion to ensure payables and receivables are captured to ensure accurate P&L reporting and payments are settled as per agreements.
• Maintain timely and accurate data entry of operational information in relevant systems.
• Act as first responder and as a support function for incidents on board the VG LNG carrier fleet.
• Contribute to the development of ADPs.
• Actively support the organization to effectively manage the VG LNG carrier fleet through development of internal procedures, software implementation and participating in various projects.
• Provide market research, analytics, and intelligence to Traders.
• Supplementary tasks as requested by your line manager.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate:

• Will have a bachelor’s degree or a professional qualification in a complementary field.
• Must have at least 2 years LNG commercial operations experience with strong knowledge of the LNG value chain.
• Has strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Has advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Power BI analytics.
• Is curious and proactive taking accountability and ownership of their work.
• Is innovative and takes the initiative to improve processes.
• Can work effectively as an individual and within a team in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Has the ability to be on call 24/7.
• Can have sailing experience, which is desirable but not necessary.
