Program Background
The Agrifood System Transformation for Youth Employment (ASTYE) Uganda program
ASTYE is a 5-year transformative initiative designed to enable dignified and fulfilling work opportunities primarily for financially disadvantaged young women, refugees, and vulnerable groups by addressing structural barriers in Uganda's Agrifood system. Aligned with Uganda’s Vision 2040, the National Development Plan and Government of Uganda Agriculture Value Chain Development Strategy, the program will contribute to national efforts toward poverty alleviation, economic growth, as well food and nutrition security. Additionally, ASTYE is part of the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy in Uganda, which aims to empower 4.3 million young Ugandans, particularly young women, by addressing structural barriers to employment and providing them with the skills and resources to succeed.
Specifically, GOAL will implement component one to reach 500,000 financially disadvantaged young people, with 456,000 transiting into work and 336,000 securing dignified and fulfilling work. As the program is young women-centric, 80% of the total outreach target will be young women within Uganda's agrifood ecosystem. Furthermore, 5% of the total youth in work target will be refugees, and another 5% will be people with disabilities.
Job summary
The Communications and Learning Specialist will be in charge of Communications and learning, conducting learning, accountability, documentation and disseminating learnings. The Communications and Learning Specialist is expected to play an important role in providing leadership in the development and implementation of the Communications and Learning strategy for the ASTYE program. The role entails carrying out communication activities, Learning, accountability and ensuring quality of communication and Learning materials produced that informs and contributes towards influencing and educating partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Learning Specialist will work closely with and review the work of a professional media service provider (s), who will deliver communication products according to contract. The postholder will design leaflets, briefs, press releases, and publications on demand, ad hoc basis.

Role Overview
Field Officer - Internal Audit
The Field Officer - Internal Audit will play a critical day-to-day role in delivering GiveDirectly’s gold-standard cash transfer product to donors and recipients. He/she will be responsible for reviewing the recipient surveys and associated processes that facilitate GiveDirectly’s unique cash transfer model. The role will reward high-quality judgment on operational questions and challenges, work ethic, communication skills, and a strong commitment to GiveDirectly’s mission and model. In brief: The Field Officer- Internal Audit will be expected to audit the work of the enrolment team, whose core responsibility is surveying households and enrolling them in our programme.
Key responsibilities:
Engaging with GiveDirectly recipients in the field, to:
1. Assess our field processes and recommend any corrections and improvements as and where seen.
2. Measure the quality of Field Officer data against set data quality standards and report any cases of inconsistency.
3. Assess our field team’s compliance with GD field processes and policies.
4. Identify and report key risks associated with GD’s program in the community.
5. Report any cases of fraud and bribery by GD staff and or recipient(s).
6. Examine local stakeholder’s assessment of GD’s program within their community.

As the Commercial Lead, you will design and execute our commercial vision in Uganda. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and rural execution, overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes both market access for cash crops (like Coffee and Macadamia) and oversight of our rural retail operations (input sales). Our Uganda program, founded in 2016, serves approximately 27,000 farmers. We offer bespoke training to coffee farmers to help them improve their yields, and distribute a range of different tree species through local nurseries situated close to farmers. As the MEL Project Specialist, you will report to the Global MEL Manager and collaboratively design and implement study designs. Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Our Uganda program, founded in 2014, provides more than 34,000 farmers with quality farm supplies as well as fruit trees like avocados. Our team in Uganda is headquartered in Jinja, close to the districts we serve, and supported by a small presence in Kampala. One Acre Fund works in the eastern region of Uganda, primarily in the districts of Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, and Buikwe
Seeking three results-driven field leaders to coordinate and scale the coffee and agroforestry extension work in a) Central Western Uganda and b) Busoga Region, improving field performance, farmer impact, and revenue through training, input sales, and strong field extension.
