Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization. Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund's operations.
When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. Over the period of your internship, you will get the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals and receive learning opportunities to build strong foundations for your future career.
We are seeking two interns for 4-6 month internships to support our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team. As an intern, you will contribute to impactful projects aimed at enhancing One Acre Fund’s ability to serve farmers and improve agricultural productivity and incomes. You will gain exposure to real-world data challenges and opportunities to generate actionable insights. You will work as a part of our dynamic MEL team and will directly report to the MEL Leads.

You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training, and regular feedback on your performance. We’ll hold career reviews every one-three months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals. As the Commercial Lead, you will design and execute our commercial vision in Uganda. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and rural execution, overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes both market access for cash crops (like Coffee and Macadamia) and oversight of our rural retail operations (input sales). This is a high-impact role where you will own the full P&L, lead vertical integration efforts, and design the systems that connect thousands of farmers to global markets.

You will support the Uganda program with financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting to inform decision-making. In addition, you will collaborate with the Grants Finance team in overseeing the financial aspects of specific Uganda-focused grants, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Our Uganda program, founded in 2016, serves approximately 27,000 farmers. We offer bespoke training to coffee farmers to help them improve their yields, and distribute a range of different tree species through local nurseries situated close to farmers. As the MEL Project Specialist, you will report to the Global MEL Manager and collaboratively design and implement study designs. You will oversee data collection, cleaning, and analysis using tools such as CommCare, Google Sheets, STATA and R, ensuring accurate and actionable insights. Additionally, you will manage other department staff, track project progress, and oversee department expenditures. Your success is demonstrated through effective project execution, leadership in process improvements, and contributing to staff development within the MEL department.

Our Uganda program, founded in 2014, provides more than 34,000 farmers with quality farm supplies as well as fruit trees like avocados. Our team in Uganda is headquartered in Jinja, close to the districts we serve, and supported by a small presence in Kampala. One Acre Fund works in the eastern region of Uganda, primarily in the districts of Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, and Buikwe
