We operate in the enterprise segment, serving nonprofit organizations across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe.
We’re building a large and complex product ecosystem that serves nonprofits, donors, and partners around the world. The platform includes a modern checkout experience and customizable widgets (each a standalone SPA), donor, organization, and partner portals, admin tools, and several internal apps.
Our backend is powered by Node.js (Koa, NestJS) and MongoDB. The frontend stack includes Webpack, Vue.js, and React, with nearly all code written in TypeScript. For high-throughput messaging and background processing, we use Kafka (for millions of events) and Bull (Redis). Analytics data is stored in ClickHouse, and we use Elasticsearch for search.
The Team
We are a distributed team of 160+ product professionals, including 80+ engineers. Our team members are mainly based across Spain, Poland, Portugal, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Turkey, and Cyprus. Many of our developers bring 5 - 10+ years of experience, and we foster a culture of deep technical curiosity and knowledge sharing.

About the Role
You will join a small team responsible for the stability, performance, and security of our server infrastructure: bare metal, VMs, databases, queues, networking, and infrastructure security. Our philosophy is simple: the team owns its systems end-to-end, and every engineer should be able to diagnose and fix issues in their area of responsibility.
This role is for someone who enjoys working with real infrastructure (OS, hardware/virtualization, networks), not just cloud abstractions.
What You'll Do
- Work primarily with on‑premise infrastructure (bare metal and VMs): setup, maintenance, troubleshooting
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations by defining requirements, assumptions, and next steps
- Own automation projects end‑to‑end (design → rollout → maintenance)
- Improve how we operate: harden and tune systems and also improve the way the team works in terms of operational hygiene
- Keep the platform stable, fast, and secure: servers, web servers, databases, queues
- Investigate production incidents across OS / networking / infrastructure layers, apply temporary mitigations, coordinate with developers and participate in post‑mortems
- Participate in on‑call rotations
- Use AI in all aspects of day‑to‑day work: researching, troubleshooting, developing
Requirements
- 4+ years as a DevOps Engineer / SRE (or very close responsibilities)
- Real, hands-on experience with servers (VMs, bare metal) at the OS level and below: configuring, troubleshooting, digging into “why it’s broken”
- Confident Linux skills (we use Ubuntu). We expect you to be comfortable with the core tools from Linux Crisis Tools
- Solid understanding of networking basics; ability to configure and troubleshoot iptables
- Ansible + Git
- Experience with Bash or Python scripting for automation/observability
- Production/on‑call experience: diagnosing incidents, restoring service, participating in post‑mortems
- Ownership and attention to detail. Downtime is expensive: five years ago, 10 minutes of downtime cost us $100k — today it’s even more
Nice to Have
We understand it’s impossible to be an expert in everything, but it’s important to have solid hands-on experience in two or more of the areas below:
- ClickHouse, MongoDB: what each database is used for, monitoring, troubleshooting performance and slow queries, sharding
- Kafka: operating clusters at scale (topic moves, broker replacements, tuning)
- Redis: high‑load tuning, replication, sharding, performance monitoring
- Elasticsearch: configuration, scaling, sharding/cluster management
- HAProxy / Nginx: load balancing, SSL/TLS, caching, reverse proxying, performance monitoring
- OS tuning: kernel/network stack/filesystem parameters for high‑load systems
- Full Disk Encryption on LVM: We use Clevis + Tang in production
- Infrastructure Security: Teleport, HashiCorp Vault

Key Responsibilities
- Own and operate our Kubernetes infrastructure: cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, and multi-tenant isolation for customer workloads
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure
- Leverage AI to an extreme level to automate analysis and resolution of production issues, and improve software development speed, reliability and maintainability
- Build dashboards, alerting, and anomaly detection across our systems
- Define and enforce SLOs and build out incident response processes
- Manage and improve our networking, load balancing, and service mesh configurations
- Drive reliability improvements across the stack through automation, runbooks, and chaos engineering
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in managing critical production systems and software development workflows
- Strong production experience setting up and operating Kubernetes at scale, using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Deep knowledge of Linux networking, container networking (CNI plugins, VXLAN, BGP), and DNS
- Experience building CI/CD systems and GitOps workflows (FluxCD, ArgoCD)
- Proficiency in Python and either Go or Bash for tooling and automation
- Strong experience with logging, monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Thanos, VictoriaMetrics, Datadog)
- Excellent communication and ability to drive technical decisions across teams
- Self-starter who executes quickly, takes ownership, and constantly seeks improvement
Nice to have
- Experience with managing GPU and AI/ML workloads
- Experience with kernel-based monitoring and routing (eBPF, XDP)

Compensation:
For this senior development role, with 3+ years of experience, the compensation range is $3,000 - $6,000 per month USD per month. This range acknowledges the extensive expertise, leadership capabilities, and significant contributions expected at this level, offering a competitive salary to reflect the value of advanced skills and experience.
Working Hours:
This role operates on a fixed schedule of 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST. While the position is based in India, the team operates primarily in the United States, supporting Sezzle’s operations across the U.S. and Canada. Candidates must be available to consistently work during these EST hours.
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated best-in-class Senior Site Reliability Engineer. This role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing team, with abundant prospects for career advancement.
As a Senior SRE with Sezzle, you will have a high degree of autonomy and authority to identify and resolve problems you see in our infrastructure, deployments, operational workload, and overall systems.
You should consider yourself a DOer to be a good fit for this role. We expect you to bring a deep well of experience to play, and with AI tooling, you should be a force for scaling in the organization.
What you'll do:
- Architect, upgrade, design, and build scalable infrastructure solutions leveraging Kubernetes, AWS, RDS (MySQL/Postgres), and modern distributed patterns.
- Help drive the infrastructure team’s roadmap, leading us to higher levels of reliability, recoverability, and scalability.
- Drive capacity planning, benchmarking, and work with the team to stress test our systems, find bottlenecks, and prepare for further growth in the business.
- Define, maintain and enforce SLAs and alerts across our infrastructure.
- Lead the teams towards stronger signal anomaly detection, better, more flexible alerting.
- Help Lead Sezzle’s AI enablement efforts, identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to enhance infrastructure reliability, developer productivity, and internal tooling.
- Build in consistency and scalability across a distributed microservices architecture while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Establish and evolve engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD across teams.
- Mentor engineers and champion a culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and deliver results that matter.
What we look for:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant SRE and backend experience.
- Deployed significant changes to a production application or infrastructure configuration in the past 30 days.
- Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Expertise with SQL-based RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience optimizing schema and queries for performance at scale.
- Proficiency in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns (e.g., transactional outbox, event-driven architecture and stream processing, queues).
- Demonstrated ability to bring new ideas forward, influence decisions, and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, mainly AWS Aurora RDS, both MySQL and Postgres.
- Experience with data engineering, data pipelines and data warehousing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying containerized microservices in Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AI developer tooling like Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, Cursor and using it to be a more productive engineer.
- Track record of shipping commercial APIs and data-driven applications in high-growth environments.
- Proven leadership in guiding technical direction, improving system reliability, and scaling high-traffic services.

Main Duties:
- Oversee all local company accounts and investments, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Provide financial leadership to the organization
- Analyse and communicate monthly business results with GM to partners on regular meetings
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations and standards
- Motivate and lead the finance team
- Manage Billing, Accounts Receivables/Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Create weekly, monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Overview cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, e.g. invoicing
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all local regulations
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the local company based on research and data reports
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Support the Europe FD to create consistent Finance processes across Europe
- Complete regular balance sheet reconciliations for the site
- Keep the Europe FD fully up to date on key issues and site performance
- Additional ad-hoc duties as requested.
