About the Role
You will join a small team responsible for the stability, performance, and security of our server infrastructure: bare metal, VMs, databases, queues, networking, and infrastructure security. Our philosophy is simple: the team owns its systems end-to-end, and every engineer should be able to diagnose and fix issues in their area of responsibility.
This role is for someone who enjoys working with real infrastructure (OS, hardware/virtualization, networks), not just cloud abstractions.
What You'll Do
- Work primarily with on‑premise infrastructure (bare metal and VMs): setup, maintenance, troubleshooting
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations by defining requirements, assumptions, and next steps
- Own automation projects end‑to‑end (design → rollout → maintenance)
- Improve how we operate: harden and tune systems and also improve the way the team works in terms of operational hygiene
- Keep the platform stable, fast, and secure: servers, web servers, databases, queues
- Investigate production incidents across OS / networking / infrastructure layers, apply temporary mitigations, coordinate with developers and participate in post‑mortems
- Participate in on‑call rotations
- Use AI in all aspects of day‑to‑day work: researching, troubleshooting, developing
Requirements
- 4+ years as a DevOps Engineer / SRE (or very close responsibilities)
- Real, hands-on experience with servers (VMs, bare metal) at the OS level and below: configuring, troubleshooting, digging into “why it’s broken”
- Confident Linux skills (we use Ubuntu). We expect you to be comfortable with the core tools from Linux Crisis Tools
- Solid understanding of networking basics; ability to configure and troubleshoot iptables
- Ansible + Git
- Experience with Bash or Python scripting for automation/observability
- Production/on‑call experience: diagnosing incidents, restoring service, participating in post‑mortems
- Ownership and attention to detail. Downtime is expensive: five years ago, 10 minutes of downtime cost us $100k — today it’s even more
Nice to Have
We understand it’s impossible to be an expert in everything, but it’s important to have solid hands-on experience in two or more of the areas below:
- ClickHouse, MongoDB: what each database is used for, monitoring, troubleshooting performance and slow queries, sharding
- Kafka: operating clusters at scale (topic moves, broker replacements, tuning)
- Redis: high‑load tuning, replication, sharding, performance monitoring
- Elasticsearch: configuration, scaling, sharding/cluster management
- HAProxy / Nginx: load balancing, SSL/TLS, caching, reverse proxying, performance monitoring
- OS tuning: kernel/network stack/filesystem parameters for high‑load systems
- Full Disk Encryption on LVM: We use Clevis + Tang in production
- Infrastructure Security: Teleport, HashiCorp Vault

About the Role
As a Backend Developer, you will be a key architect of the engine that powers our global platform. You'll resolve complex challenges in a high-load, distributed system, building and scaling the infrastructure that processes millions in donations. This is not a maintenance role; it's a high-impact, product-focused engineering position where clean architecture, performance, and reliability are paramount.

The Lab
The Lab is Fundraise Up's 0→1 track. It operates ahead of the roadmap, investigating opportunities driven by new technologies, AI, data, and infrastructure shifts — often before there's a clear buyer or demand signal.
The Lab does not run scaled products. It finds, validates, and hands off the ones worth scaling.
The Role
This is a player-coach role. You'll build and lead the Lab function while personally owning 1–2 of the highest-leverage bets.
Your job is to reduce uncertainty, not ship features. You'll own ideas end-to-end — from hypothesis framing through fast experiments to explicit investment decisions: scale, pivot, or kill. Most ideas should die early. A few may graduate into Core or New Products with strong evidence behind them.
Success = learning velocity, decision quality, and team leverage — not output volume or adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio & Strategy: Own the Lab bet portfolio. Size opportunities, set entry/exit criteria, and make decisive scale/iterate/kill calls. Maintain a visible exploration backlog.
- Experimentation: Frame experiments around the single riskiest assumption. Define kill criteria before building. Choose the right fidelity (prototype, spike, wizard-of-oz, no-code, live pilot). Ship fast and protect learning speed.
- Investment Decisions: Synthesize results into opinionated recommendations. Communicate what was tested, learned, and what remains unknown. Kill zombie initiatives — every experiment ends with a decision.
- Handoffs: When a bet shows strong signal, prepare validated hypotheses, evidence packs, risks, and a proposed scaling model. Transfer ownership fully.
- GTM & Partnerships: Source and close lighthouse pilots with clear scope, metrics, and off-ramps. Identify enabling partners and join strategic calls to move pilots to business validation.
- Team: Build a repeatable Lab Operating System (pipeline reviews, kill reviews, demo days, post-mortems).
- AI & Transparency: Use AI tools to accelerate research, synthesis, and prototyping. Explore AI-enabled product ideas with a realistic lens on cost, data, and accuracy. Publish decision memos and share failed experiments openly.
What Great Looks Like in 12 Months
- 3–5 high-risk bets tested with clear outcomes (scaled, iterated, or killed with rationale)
- 1–2 bets graduated to New Products or Core with evidence packs and clean handoffs

Experience (Must-Have)
- 8–10+ years in Product with a proven 0→1 track record
- Personally owned multiple high-risk bets with explicit go/kill decisions
- 3+ years managing PMs (player-coach or group lead)
- Fluency across validation tools: discovery, prototypes, engineered MVPs — knows when each is appropriate
- Cross-functional leadership across Eng/Design/Analytics and GTM; comfort in pre-sales/pilot settings
- Experience where learning speed mattered more than polish and real downside risk was present
AI & Technical Judgment (Critical)
- Hands-on experience using AI as a product-building and exploration tool
- Can prototype with LLMs, APIs, or modern tooling and ship a functional prototype quickly

What We Expect
We are looking for a designer with 7+ years of experience. You must be able to generate multiple solutions, justify them, receive and digest feedback effectively. It's essential to be comfortable with the idea of redoing everything from scratch. If such a request hurts your feelings, then we might not be the right fit – we deeply refine solutions, experiment extensively, and discard many ideas along the way.
It's super important to adhere to all types of agreements.
Proficiency in English at B2 level is required.
Before or after the interview, we may ask you to complete a test assignment. If you are concerned about us "using free ideas for the project," we will compensate you for the task regardless of the outcome (please inform us before starting).
Your Responsibilities
- Design and document UX scenarios, and create interactive prototypes.
- Build and maintain interfaces for different parts of the product in Figma.

- Oversee the quality of implementation during later stages of development.
Additional Information
- Our team works remotely, but we operate on a 9 AM to 6 PM CET schedule. During these hours, we actively collaborate via calls and discussions.

About the Role
This role is the primary owner of how the product team operates. You ensure quality and velocity don't trade off against each other — by building, scaling, and protecting the processes that make good product decisions repeatable.
You'll report directly to the CPO and serve as the main entry point for new Product Ops initiatives — prioritizing, routing, and leading the ones that matter most. You focus on what scales across the whole product team, not what solves a one-off problem for one squad.
The Product Ops team is two people: you and one manager — with plans to grow. This is a genuinely hands-on role — you'll be doing real work, not just directing it. Expect to own processes end-to-end, from design through adoption.
What You'll Own
- Be the primary entry point for new Product Ops initiatives — prioritize them, decide what gets resourced, and route what doesn't fit.
- Lead major cross-team process changes: design the frame, align stakeholders, and drive adoption.
- Own cross-team processes across the Product department (Product, Design, and Analytics) where central coordination is required — quarterly planning, goal decomposition, metrics alignment.
- Build and maintain shared frameworks and artifacts (prioritization logic, metrics models, decision templates) that improve clarity and consistency across the product team.

About the role

About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

QAE does not write product tests for teams on a regular basis. Instead, the role focuses on:

What We Look For:

As a Principal Software Engineer with Sezzle, you will work with highly-motivated teams to tackle interesting and challenging problems across multiple areas of the organization. Your experience and guidance will help other members of the team level-up their own skills as well. You will spend your time working with AI/ML tooling to identify creative uses to fill existing and emerging gaps in the applications.
In this backend focused role, you will work closely with stakeholders from Product, Support and the business. You’ll also partner with other engineering teams to provide high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions to internal and customer problems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing, developing, and delivering new features, as well as unblocking and mentoring your teammates. Your work will generally focus on the lower level features and optimizations.
This role has both an internal and external focus, your contributions will make a meaningful difference in the day-to-day lives of your peers at Sezzle, enhancing their ability to support our business and customers, and you will have opportunities to take any feedback and iterate.
What You'll Do:
- Architect, design, and build scalable backend services and APIs primarily in Golang, leveraging AWS, RDS (MySQL/Postgres), and modern distributed patterns.
- Lead Sezzle’s AI enablement efforts, identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to enhance developer productivity, internal tooling, and customer experiences.
- Partner with teams across the organization to integrate modern AI capabilities - Primarily around tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and enhancing team productivity.
- Drive consistency and scalability across a distributed microservices architecture while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Establish and evolve engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD across teams.
- Mentor engineers and champion a culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and deliver results that matter.
What We Look For:
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend experience.
- Deployed significant changes to a production application in the past 30 days.
- Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Expertise with SQL-based RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience optimizing schema and queries for performance at scale.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns (e.g., transactional outbox, event-driven architecture, queues).
- Demonstrated ability to bring new ideas forward, influence decisions, and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, mainly AWS Aurora RDS, both MySQL and Postgres.
- Experience in fintech, payments, BNPL, or consumer lending - familiarity with financial compliance, credit decisioning, or transaction processing systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Working knowledge of TypeScript, React, or React Native.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling (e.g., OpenAI API, LangChain, Hugging Face, or custom LLM integrations).
- Track record of shipping commercial APIs and data-driven applications in high-growth environments.
- Proven leadership in guiding technical direction, improving system reliability, and scaling engineering organizations.
