About Us
We’re looking for a Staff Engineer - User Experience (Backend) to join our Patient Platform team and shape the systems that power patient-facing experiences across our health technology platform. This team owns the APIs, orchestration services, and communication infrastructure that enable secure, reliable interactions between patients and our platform (Email, SMS, notifications).
We are at a critical stage of growth, scaling our platform, modernizing legacy services, and strengthening our event-driven architecture to support increasing patient volume and communication complexity. This role will play a central part in defining how our backend systems evolve as we scale.
As a Staff Engineer - User Experience (Backend), you will be the technical authority for the Patient Platform domain, translating architectural strategy into scalable, production-ready distributed systems in partnership with cross-functional teams. You will drive the evolution of our API-first architecture (including BFF and orchestration patterns), define and enforce API contracts, and modernize tightly coupled services into scalable, event-driven components.
This is an opportunity for a senior technical leader who thrives in ambiguity, moves pragmatically, and enjoys balancing hands-on engineering with architectural influence.
You will strengthen reliability, observability, and fault tolerance across distributed systems, scale and harden our patient communication platform (Email, SMS, notifications), and design secure systems handling sensitive patient and identity data in regulated environments. The Opportunity
The Diner Core Reservation team builds and operates the systems that power the reservation lifecycle for the core diner experience – from slot lock and booking through change, cancel, confirm, and downstream event publication. These systems sit at the center of a critical set of diner, restaurant and partner flows, serving OpenTable web and mobile clients as well as partner integrations, and they operate multi-region with strict expectations around correctness, latency, and reliability.
We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who can design and deliver changes in a complex reservation domain, raise the bar on software quality, and help the team move quickly without compromising reliability. The team works across a mix of C#/.NET and Java services and supporting systems, and the role requires comfort navigating both ecosystems. Other technologies you’ll work with include Redis, relational databases such as Postgres or SQL Server, in-memory and distributed caches, RESTful APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven architectures (EDA).

What We're Looking For
The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, including commission and/or bonuses is $140,000 - $155,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer who applies a deep understanding of the underlying technologies and dependencies to solve problems. They help raise the bar on performance, reliability, and simplicity as we scale availability search at OpenTable.
Technologies you’ll work with include C#/.NET, Redis, in-memory and distributed caches, RESTful APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven architectures (EDA).
You’ll be both a hands-on engineer and a technical leader: writing code, writing technical design docs, reviewing design docs, and owning solutions end-to-end from design through rollout, observability, and ongoing iteration.

We’re hiring a staff level full-stack Technical Lead (L6/L7) to own and scale critical parts of the Cerebras Developer Console — the primary interface developers and enterprises use to run and manage inference workloads.

Platform Software Engineers (PSWEs) design and build the distributed systems that power Braze's massive-scale background processing platform. We own Sidekiq at Braze—processing more than a trillion jobs daily across Kubernetes clusters worldwide. For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,842 and $232,200/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $144,000 and $258,000/year (including bonus or commission).
