About Position |
|
We are looking for a passionate, innovative and dedicated Senior Software Engineer, who is ready to make an impact by developing and improving backend systems (as well as some frontend systems), as well as directly communicating with Paidy’s merchants. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that powers Paidy's merchant platform, including onboarding systems, merchant dashboards, and third-party integrations with e-commerce platforms. You will architect and deliver API solutions, SDKs, and integration tools while ensuring high system availability, performance optimization, and robust operational support. As a senior member of the team, you'll drive architectural decisions, collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate merchant requirements into technical solutions, and support the establishment of engineering best practices that balance rapid feature delivery with system reliability and security. |

About Position |

The Data Engineering Department provides the technical service around the company’s business data and information, and its derivatives. This service is a crucial part of Paidy's external surface and internal business intelligence. The Department provides services including capturing datasets from any business activities, performing curation, maintaining its availability, deriving strategy and implementing solutions covering integrity, resilience and scalability. In addition, by assisting business initiatives on data analytics and reporting. As per the component stack, the Data Engineering Department and its services will depend on most, if not all activities within Paidy. |

The Senior Data Engineer should be able to understand the business, technical requirements and implement solutions accordingly. (S)he should also have hands-on experience in application development, in-depth knowledge in programming languages and data storage technologies. Skills and Requirements |

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Technical Director to bridge the gap between client needs and technical solutions within our agency. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of both data, marketing and technical domains, with the ability to architect technical solutions across technologies for web, mobile, enterprise martech and translate complex business requirements into effective and scalable solutions. You will work closely with clients, product design teams, and engineering (front end and back end) teams to design and implement solutions that meet project objectives and shape the technical direction for our clients. We are seeking a hands – on leader for engineering teams and design teams as well as a consultative leader with clients’ technical teams. What You’ll Do
- Architectural Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable and efficient solutions [see example technologies below]. Create architectures that align with project requirements and business objectives.

What You’ll Need
- 8-10 years Experience as a Tech Director, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Cloud Architect, pre-sales technical lead, or similar role, with a focus on web, mobile, enterprise technologies.
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, design patterns, and best practices in software development. Can provide solutions for high performance and scalability architecture.
- Experience in designing and implementing end-to-end solutions, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. JP and ENG preferred based on client and internal team communication.

We are expanding our Solutions Engineering team. We're always looking for top Engineers to join our winning team. We're seeking someone based in Japan, who is bilingual in English and Japanese.
What you’ll do:
- Work with the Sales team as the technical subject matter expert for BigID’s platform during customer calls and presentations
- Use market and technical knowledge to consult on best practices and offer constructive direction for solution architecture and design
- Stay up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products, and services/offerings
- Drive customer success with real-world knowledge and recommendations
- Develop a trusted advisory role with customers, communicating upcoming product changes, enhancements, and serving as an internal voice of the customer
- Work with the post-sales teams to ensure every customer realizes the value of the BigID Platform and continues to contribute to the success of BigID customers
What you’ll bring:
- Interpersonal communication, customer relationship, executive presentation skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced startup environment
- Demonstrated ability to address customer needs and provide best practices
- Strong background in Big Data, AI, privacy, data governance, or information security
- Good troubleshooting abilities and a methodical approach
- Ability to describe complex technical concepts to diverse audiences: executives, business stakeholders, and technology practitioners
- Passion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical input during the sales process
- Broad understanding of enterprise data architecture, privacy, and security technologies
- Ability to plan, execute and close out a Proof of Concept with minimal assistance and oversight
- Desire to share knowledge through excellent documentation creation and RFI/RFP responses
- Some prior experience with one or more of the following: RDBMS systems, no-SQL data stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), Hadoop technologies (such HDFS, Hive, HBase), cloud technologies (AWS EMR, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, Azure file and blob storage, etc.)
- Prior experience with Identity and Access Management or Data Loss Prevention tools is a plus
- Proficient in Linux and container framework (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Minimum of 3 years in a pre-sales or consulting role within a multinational environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (master’s degree a plus)

About Position
The position is within the risk engineering team, which is tasked with designing, building, maintaining and operating the set of services that underwrites Paidy’s transactions. These services use machine learning models to predict credit risk and statistical models to detect, block and alert on fraudulent transactions in milliseconds. Recently our scope of work expanded to include designing, building and maintaining new internal web application tools that empower internal teams to experiment with and implement better fraud detection/prevention methods, credit risk policies, and collections policies to further maximize our revenue. We enjoy using Scala in a functional and pragmatic way to ease the burden of delivering quality backend software. We prefer simple solutions that allow us to iterate quickly and deploy them to production often. We value ownership and trust each other to deliver quality work in a timely manner.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Work in cross-functional teams that include product owners, data scientists and other business domain engineers to deliver new features.
- Periodically evaluate if our services are meeting our security, maintainability, observability and reliability standards, capture any deficiencies and work with the rest of the team to address them.
- Work directly with product owners and stakeholders to ensure that new requirements will not degrade our platform’s performance, reliability or security.
- When assigned as a feature team lead, design and build consensus around new solutions architecture, build the technical implementation roadmap and work with the team to execute it.
Skills and Requirements
- Required to have:
- Knowledge of Functional Programming and/or Scala and its ecosystem
- Understanding of software architecture and design with the ability to align the overall service architecture
- Experience with building distributed systems, scalability and low latency software
- Experience with maintaining and further developing existing code bases
- Ability to work with non-experts, discuss their needs and help them formulate their requirements.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-experts
- Showsinterestintheorganization's engineering strategy, product development strategy and how that aligns to the overall business strategy
- Ability to define task outlines and deliverables
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency when required
