Summary:

The Director, Business Operations (Global QC) will lead the strategic design, implementation, and continuous optimization of global operational frameworks supporting Vaxcyte’s Quality Control (QC) and supporting Analytical interfaces. This role ensures that analytical inputs and QC operations are scalable, compliant, efficient, and aligned with corporate and regulatory expectations as the organization advances from development through commercial readiness.

The Director will serve as the central business operations leader for the Global Quality Control, partnering with leaders in Analytical Development, Analytical Science & Technology, Stability, Process Development, Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T), and Quality. This individual will drive governance, process standardization, infrastructure development, and cross-functional coordination to enable timely, compliant, and uninterrupted supply of Vaxcyte’s innovative vaccines.

Essential Functions:

Operational Excellence & Strategy
•    Lead the design and execution of operational strategies that translate Vaxcyte’s global vision into efficient, compliant, and scalable QC and analytical business operations.
•    Develop and maintain a global QC operations strategy, ensuring alignment with clinical and commercial objectives.

Governance & Compliance
•    Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks for QC and analytical operations in alignment with global cGMP regulations and internal quality standards.
•    Define, visualize, and formalize QC business processes using RASCI principles, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across the analytical network.
•    Review and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) infrastructure to close gaps, harmonize SOPs, and strengthen procedural consistency.
•    Ensure data integrity principles are embedded in all operational practices, compliant with Vaxcyte’s DI policies and global standards.
•    Support global inspection readiness and lead preparations for regulatory inspections, partner audits, and customer reviews.
•    Collaborate with Quality to ensure analytical operations and contract testing laboratories meet all compliance requirements.

Infrastructure & Systems Leadership
•    Oversee the development and validation of business systems, data management platforms, and documentation practices across global analytical and QC sites.
•    Ensure that contract and in-house laboratories maintain robust equipment qualification, calibration, and maintenance programs to support reliable analytical testing.
•    Lead network and site planning activities, including external partnerships and outsourcing strategies with CDMOs and CROs.
•    Develop business cases for laboratory expansion, outsourcing scenarios, and infrastructure investments to support strategic growth.

Capability Building & Team Leadership
•    Collaborate and mentor a global team of QC operations professionals to ensure scientific, technical, and operational excellence.
•    Drive training programs that enhance technical proficiency, compliance culture, and cross-functional understanding within the analytics organization.

Requirements: 

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or higher) in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
•    12+ years of progressive experience in Quality Control, Analytical Operations, or Technical Operations within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the VP, GM, Midsized Markets, the Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Midsize Markets Europe, is the medical leader responsible for defining and executing the medical strategy for oncology products in our portfolio within Midsized markets. This role serves as the medical voice within the Midsized markets Leadership Team, ensuring scientific excellence, compliant medical engagement, and strong alignment between global strategy and local patient, physician, and healthcare system needs. This leader will ensure that Midsized markets medical considerations are embedded in the regional medical strategy and plans and will partner with the Midsized markets country managers and crossfunctional teams, as well as VP Head of Europe Medical Affairs and their leadership team. The incumbent will contribute to building the Midsized markets medical team and working closely with the Global, Regional, Country Medical Affairs teams across Med Affairs functions.

The Role

As VP Design, you will own and lead the design function across both Product Design (user experience, interface, service design) and Brand / Marketing Design (visual identity, campaign creative, brand experience). We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Crypto Compliance Officer to join IMC's newly established Crypto Compliance team in Zug. Reporting directly to the Senior Crypto Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of IMC's compliance program — translating policies into operational controls, running transaction monitoring and trade surveillance processes, and ensuring the business meets its regulatory obligations on an ongoing basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to get in early on building something from the ground up. You will work closely with the Senior Crypto Compliance Officer, as well as colleagues in the Amsterdam AML team, European Compliance leads, and counterparts in the US and APAC. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, willing to roll up their sleeves, and genuinely excited about the compliance challenges that come with operating in the digital asset space.

Your Core Responsibilities

Transaction monitoring & trade surveillance

• Manage and oversee day-to-day transaction monitoring across IMC's crypto asset activities, identifying, investigating, and escalating unusual patterns or potential AML concerns in line with the Compliance framework
• Manage the trade surveillance alert workflow — reviewing, investigating, and resolving alerts in line with established procedures and escalating material issues to the European Monitoring and Surveillance Compliance Officer
• Perform blockchain analytics to assess counterparty risk and support investigations into flagged transactions
• Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in accordance with CIMA obligations

Policy implementation & controls

• Implement and operationalize compliance policies and procedures across the business, ensuring staff understand and follow requirements
• Maintain compliance registers, logs, and documentation required for regulatory, audit, and reporting purposes
• Develop and roll out training for the Crypto teams across various Compliance topics

Regulatory & business support

• Handle day-to-day compliance queries from the trading and operations teams, providing practical and timely guidance
• Assist the Senior Crypto Compliance Officer in managing relationships with exchanges and responding to regulatory enquiries
• Support the preparation of regulatory filings and assist in managing the audit remediation plan
• Track relevant regulatory developments in the EU and US crypto landscape and flag material changes for policy review

Cross-regional collaboration

• Liaise with the Zug AML team based in Amsterdam on AML-related matters, ensuring consistency of approach across European business
• Collaborate with Compliance counterparts across European offices, as well as colleagues in the US and APAC, to support the global compliance program
• Contribute to compliance training sessions and help build a strong compliance culture across the business

Key deliverables

• Effective day-to-day operation of transaction monitoring and trade surveillance processes
• Robust implementation of Compliance policies and controls across the crypto business
• Support the Head of Compliance in delivering a fully operational compliance framework in Zug

Your Skills and Experience

• 2–4 years of Compliance experience in a regulated financial services environment, ideally with exposure to digital assets, crypto, or fintech
• Practical experience in AML transaction monitoring, trade surveillance, or compliance controls in a financial institution
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, Elliptic)
• Experience working in or alongside an international team across multiple jurisdictions
• A collaborative and proactive mindset — you work well with others and take ownership of your responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English

As a Staff Solutions Architect at Upbound, you own the technical success of our customers. You are the primary driver of customer outcomes, from initial implementation through production adoption, ensuring customers achieve real business value with Crossplane and the Upbound platform. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role embedded in the post-sales motion, working closely with customers to deliver working solutions, not just guidance.

In this role, you will Own: 

Customer Technical Outcomes

• Drive end-to-end technical success for a portfolio of enterprise customers, from post-sales handoff through production adoption.
• Own the implementation of known Upbound use cases — control plane architectures, Upbound/Crossplane configurations, GitOps integration, platform engineering patterns — and ensure customers reach their target state.
• Define and track technical milestones that map to customer business objectives and contract value.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point when customers face blockers, coordinating engineering and product resources to resolve them.

Implementation & Architecture

• Lead technical discovery to deeply understand customer environments, platform requirements, and target architecture.
• Design and deliver Crossplane-based control plane architectures tailored to customer infrastructure and organizational context.
• Build and maintain reference platforms and implementation accelerators that codify Upbound best practices and reduce time-to-value for common use cases.
• Contribute Statements of Work that accurately scope implementation engagements.
• Write code, fix bugs, and build scoped features within Upbound products, provider ecosystem, and Crossplane core where needed to unblock customers.

Technical Voice of the Customer

• Represent customer technical needs internally to influence product roadmap and prioritization.
• Partner with pre-sales SEs to ensure smooth, informed handoffs with full context on customer environment and expectations.
• Identify expansion opportunities as customer technical maturity grows and new Upbound capabilities become relevant.

You are a good fit if you have: 

• Hands-on Kubernetes expertise — operators, controllers, or add-ons; production deployment and management experience.
• Platform engineering or SRE background, with direct experience building or operating an Internal Developer Platform (IDP).
• Deep familiarity with cloud-native tooling: CNCF ecosystem, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD), CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience across at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) at production scale.
• Strong programming skills; Go is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of leading customers through complex technical implementations to successful, measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting architecture and trade-offs to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously in a fast-moving startup environment.

• Crossplane power user — contributions to core or the provider ecosystem are very appreciated [for many reasons]
• Active Kubernetes community involvement: contributions, conference talks, technical writing, or open source maintainership.
